I loved this place. Stayed 3 nights. Really cool spot, super social with many events. The rooms were great, and the facilities were amazing. Food was decent, convenient with a bar available. Locals worked here. Location is not the best, and you have to walk down many steps to get to the hostel. But the view from the hostel is stunning! Laundry literally next door. Dive school also next door. Unfortunately, I got bed bugs the first night, I spoke with the front desk to ask for another bed and was switched immediately.

Nice hostel and the staff were lovely. Good social area and nice views of sunset. I was put in a basement room which was dark, and the ac was only on from 7pm-11an so it got quite hot in there. Also woke up with about 50 small bites, so there’s either bed bugs or insects in the room.

Vibe Analysis
Outpost Beach Hostel sits right on the water in El Nido, with sunset views doing a lot of the heavy lifting. The main draw is the social setup: nightly games, trivia, drinking events, hostel tours, a busy bar area, and a big shared space that makes solo travel easy if the goal is to meet people fast. Staff energy is a major part of the place, with names like EJ, Jasmine, Maya, Edna, Kim, JC, Mia, Ejay, and Mayan tied to warm check-ins, help, and a friendly mood. The hostel is better for party-brained travelers than quiet reset mode. Music, microphones, karaoke, and drinking games can run loud, and the common areas can feel intense when the nightly program is on. The rooms and bathrooms can be clean and comfortable, with good aircon in places, comfy beds in places, and spacious bathrooms in places, but the setup is inconsistent: Wi-Fi may not reach rooms, mobile signal can drop out, showers can be cold, water can cut off, and storage or hooks around beds and showers may be limited. The beach access is part of the charm and part of the hassle. At high tide, the water can reach the steps, luggage can get wet, and the back route may feel dark, rough, or awkward. The location is scenic but not central, so El Nido town usually means a tuk-tuk, scooter, shuttle, or a hilly walk. The beach view is strong; swimming directly out front may not be the point. Food, tours, and convenience are available on-site, which helps because the hostel sits away from town. That convenience can get expensive, and policies around outside food, water, laundry, tour costs, and refunds may feel stricter or less transparent than expected. Come for sunsets, fast social momentum, and a loud beachfront base; skip it if the trip needs quiet nights, easy town access, or predictable facilities.
