I got bitten by bedbugs. Then i checked the mattress and found some bedbugs and bedbug droppings in the seams. At first i thought it was isolated, but then near the end of my stay, i talked to another guest who stayed in another room and she also had bedbugs. So the hostel is infested. Also I once got woken up around 3 AM because an employee (or maybe it was the owner, someone referred to him by the nickname "bubbles") of the hostel was blasting music from a speaker that was next to our window on the other side of the wall. Couldn't sleep much afterwards. The hostel has quiet hours but they were ignored by the staff of the hostel to have a loud party at 3 AM.

Staff were lovely so I feel bad leaving a bad review but the cleanliness was actually a joke for the price. Free breakfast was toast and cold scrambled eggs. Also really far out of the town so i didn’t feel safe. I’ve also left with lots of suspicious looking bites. Not sure if bed bugs but wouldn’t be surprised.

They're the only place that rents scooters, so their initial price is in the sky. Try to negotiate it. The worse thing - they have bedbugs🤮 Not acceptable nowadays! They try very hard with free treats for guests, very impressive 👏 . But I had to take antihistamines 3 days after I left.

Yellow Belly Backpackers é uma base social e de bom valor em San Ignacio, com muita coisa acontecendo no local: bar, jardim e decks para ficar, piscina, dardos, redes, violão, lavanderia, água de refil, bikes grátis e atividades noturnas regulares. O clima é amigável e geralmente fácil de entrar sem virar um hostel de festa total. O tour da ATM Cave é o destaque aqui. Pode ser reservado pelo hostel, sai cedo o bastante para evitar o tráfego mais pesado da caverna, e guias como Damien e Josiah dão uma borda forte de aventura-ciência, com geologia, arqueologia e segurança bem conduzidas. O café da manhã é uma força real pelo preço, com ovos, granola, fruta, torrada, cereal, café, chá, suco e às vezes frijoles ou batatas. Dormitórios costumam ser espaçosos e podem ter cortinas, lockers, tomadas ao lado da cama, prateleiras, ventiladores pessoais e AC, embora essa estrutura não seja consistente em todas as camas ou quartos. A localização é mais quieta do que o centro e fica perto das ruínas de Cahal Pech, do Iguana Conservation Project, ônibus e comida mais barata por perto. A troca é a ladeira: a cidade fica a uns 15-20 minutos a pé, e a volta pode parecer cardio sob sol quente.
Sinais para conferir
- Quartos podem ficar quentes ou abafados, e acesso a AC pode ser limitado, inconsistente, fraco ou ter custo extra dependendo do quarto.
- Os banheiros são grandes, mas podem não ser suficientes nos horários de pico, e a limpeza pode ser irregular.
- A cozinha existe e pode ser útil, mas os equipamentos podem ser limitados ou inconsistentes.
- A localização no alto é quieta e prática para Cahal Pech, mas menos conveniente para vida noturna no centro ou voltas solo tarde.
- O barulho pode viajar do bar, áreas externas, máquina de lavar, eventos próximos ou socialização cedo pela manhã, especialmente em quartos dos fundos ou superiores.
- Camas, travesseiros, colchões, roupas de cama e peças antigas podem parecer gastos em alguns quartos.
