Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) to Amsterdam
Checked August 2026: for Amsterdam Centraal, follow the train signs inside Schiphol Plaza and go down to Schiphol Airport station. There is no metro at Schiphol. For Centraal, take the train. If your hostel is in the old centre, Jordaan, or Red Light District, you are usually choosing between walking from the station area and taking one short GVB leg; if it is east, south-east, or along the north-south axis, use the central metro hall for lines 51, 53, 54, or 52, as described in the I amsterdam metro guide.
For wayfinding, follow station signs to the central metro hall, tram stops, night-bus stops, or ferries. Eurostar lists Amsterdam Centraal station facilities on its station information page, and GVB confirms tram, bus, metro, and ferry coverage for Amsterdam visitors on its public transport company page.

Exact first and last through departures to Amsterdam are not published on the airport page. Cash, cards, and ATMs

Amsterdam (Ijmuiden) Passenger Ferry Terminal to Amsterdam
Checked August 2026: DFDS Amsterdam/IJmuiden foot passengers arrive at Felison Terminal, Sluisplein 33 in IJmuiden. There is no direct train to the terminal, so the practical handoff is the DFDS/Brouwers transfer bus to De Ruijterkade 153 behind Amsterdam Centraal, near the Viking River Cruise entrance, as described on the DFDS Amsterdam terminal page and DFDS bus transfer page.
Prebook the DFDS transfer bus where possible. For your first night, match the arrival to the bed cluster.
