It was really nice eating with everyone in the evening ! Rami is a really unique and funny guy. I'm sure He is a great guide for exploring the city. Unfortunately, the filth in the beds made me leave... A smell of gym and stale tobacco, a blanket that hadn't been washed in years, and traces of bedbugs in the pillow. I've stayed in dozens of hostels in my life but this one was really too dirty for me. I'd rather pay more and sleep in a reasonably clean bed.

AVOID THIS PLACE! I honestly wonder why Google even allows a one-star rating for places like this — there should be an option for negative stars. This is by far the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. If you want to ruin your holiday with bed bugs, go ahead — I’ve got around thirty or more itchy bites after just one night. The place is filthy, and even if you’re exhausted, it’s better to leave and stay outside than spend a night here. I thought staying for one night wouldn’t be so bad, but it only got worse. Please, avoid this place if you can. I truly hope they start taking better care of it; otherwise, they should just close it down.

Booked the hostel off its 9.2 rating but I have no idea how it got it You know when you’re at the floor of the hostel because the smell of the toilet hits you pretty quickly the mattress’ with no sheets are black and one guest even mentioned bed bugs Then there is the bathroom with the shower covered in rubbish on the floor It’s far from everything, a uber is minimum $5US each way Lost my $5 key deposit at check out at 9:30am because the staff was asleep How did it ever get a 9.2 rating?

Das naechtliche 5-Dollar-Family-Dinner ist der Puls von The Colony Beirut Hostel: libanesische Hausmannskost, lange-Tafel-Energie und einfache Gespraeche, besonders von Rami angefuehrt. Es gibt dem Ort einen eingebauten sozialen Rhythmus, sodass Solo-Backpacker sich nicht anstrengen muessen, Gesellschaft zu finden. Das Hostel hat eine Terrasse, Gemeinschaftsbereiche zum Abhaengen, Shared und Private Rooms und Dorm-Betten, die oft bequem sind und etwas Privatsphaere bieten. Die Stimmung ist warm, witzig und gespraechig, mit Staff, der bei Beirut-Tipps, Transport und lokalem Kontext helfen kann. Die Lage funktioniert gut fuer Armenia Street, Bars, Cafes, Clubs, nahe Maerkte, Manoushe-Spots und Minibusse oder Vans von der Hauptstrasse. Es ist nicht die polierte Zentral-Touristen-Version von Beirut, und die umliegende Quarantine-/Hafenseite kann zuerst halb industriell, ruhig oder verlassen wirken.

- Heisses Wasser kann uneinheitlich sein, und Wi-Fi kann in Zimmern oder nachts schwach sein.
- Sauberkeit ist uneinheitlich, mit ernsten Beschwerden ueber Betten, Baeder, Gerueche und moegliche Bettwanzen.
- Die Ausstattung ist basic und aelter; Sommerhitze, begrenzte AC, Ausfaelle und Gemeinschaftsbaeder koennen rau sein.
- Die Lage ist nuetzlich fuer Armenia Street und Verkehr, aber sie ist nicht Downtown und kann nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit isoliert wirken.
- Das Hostel hat starke Persoenlichkeit; die soziale Energie ist ein Feature, passt aber vielleicht nicht fuer alle, die einen ruhigen, polierten Aufenthalt wollen.
