It was really nice eating with everyone in the evening ! Rami is a really unique and funny guy. I'm sure He is a great guide for exploring the city. Unfortunately, the filth in the beds made me leave... A smell of gym and stale tobacco, a blanket that hadn't been washed in years, and traces of bedbugs in the pillow. I've stayed in dozens of hostels in my life but this one was really too dirty for me. I'd rather pay more and sleep in a reasonably clean bed.

AVOID THIS PLACE! I honestly wonder why Google even allows a one-star rating for places like this — there should be an option for negative stars. This is by far the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. If you want to ruin your holiday with bed bugs, go ahead — I’ve got around thirty or more itchy bites after just one night. The place is filthy, and even if you’re exhausted, it’s better to leave and stay outside than spend a night here. I thought staying for one night wouldn’t be so bad, but it only got worse. Please, avoid this place if you can. I truly hope they start taking better care of it; otherwise, they should just close it down.

Booked the hostel off its 9.2 rating but I have no idea how it got it You know when you’re at the floor of the hostel because the smell of the toilet hits you pretty quickly the mattress’ with no sheets are black and one guest even mentioned bed bugs Then there is the bathroom with the shower covered in rubbish on the floor It’s far from everything, a uber is minimum $5US each way Lost my $5 key deposit at check out at 9:30am because the staff was asleep How did it ever get a 9.2 rating?

La cena in famiglia da $5 ogni sera è il polso di The Colony Beirut Hostel: cucina casalinga libanese, energia da tavolata lunga e conversazione facile guidata soprattutto da Rami. Dà al posto un ritmo sociale incorporato, quindi i solo backpacker non devono faticare per trovare compagnia. L’ostello ha una terrazza, aree comuni per stare in giro, camere condivise e private, e cuccette nei dorm spesso comode con un po’ di privacy. Il mood è caldo, divertente e chiacchierone, con staff che può aiutare con dritte su Beirut, trasporti e contesto locale. La posizione funziona bene per Armenia Street, bar, cafe, club, mercati vicini, posti di manoushe e minibus o van dalla strada principale. Non è la versione polished e central-tourist di Beirut, e l’area circostante Quarantine/port-side può sembrare semi-industriale, tranquilla o deserta all’inizio.
Segnali da controllare
- L’acqua calda può essere incostante, e il Wi-Fi può essere debole nelle camere o di notte.
- La pulizia è irregolare, con lamentele serie su letti, bagni, odori e possibili cimici da letto.
- Le strutture sono basic e più vecchie; caldo estivo, A/C limitata, blackout e bagni condivisi possono essere ruvidi.
- La posizione è utile per Armenia Street e i trasporti, ma non è downtown e può sembrare isolata dopo il buio.
- L’ostello ha una personalità forte; l’energia sociale è una feature, ma potrebbe non andare bene per chi vuole un soggiorno tranquillo e polished.
