It was really nice eating with everyone in the evening ! Rami is a really unique and funny guy. I'm sure He is a great guide for exploring the city. Unfortunately, the filth in the beds made me leave... A smell of gym and stale tobacco, a blanket that hadn't been washed in years, and traces of bedbugs in the pillow. I've stayed in dozens of hostels in my life but this one was really too dirty for me. I'd rather pay more and sleep in a reasonably clean bed.

AVOID THIS PLACE! I honestly wonder why Google even allows a one-star rating for places like this — there should be an option for negative stars. This is by far the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. If you want to ruin your holiday with bed bugs, go ahead — I’ve got around thirty or more itchy bites after just one night. The place is filthy, and even if you’re exhausted, it’s better to leave and stay outside than spend a night here. I thought staying for one night wouldn’t be so bad, but it only got worse. Please, avoid this place if you can. I truly hope they start taking better care of it; otherwise, they should just close it down.

Booked the hostel off its 9.2 rating but I have no idea how it got it You know when you’re at the floor of the hostel because the smell of the toilet hits you pretty quickly the mattress’ with no sheets are black and one guest even mentioned bed bugs Then there is the bathroom with the shower covered in rubbish on the floor It’s far from everything, a uber is minimum $5US each way Lost my $5 key deposit at check out at 9:30am because the staff was asleep How did it ever get a 9.2 rating?

Le dîner familial à 5 dollars chaque soir est le pouls de The Colony Beirut Hostel : cuisine libanaise maison, énergie de grande table et conversation facile menée surtout par Rami. Ça donne au lieu un rythme social intégré, donc les backpackers solo n’ont pas à travailler dur pour trouver de la compagnie. L’auberge a une terrasse, des espaces communs pour traîner, chambres partagées et privées, et des lits de dortoir souvent confortables avec un peu d’intimité. L’ambiance est chaude, drôle et bavarde, avec un staff qui peut aider pour les tips de Beyrouth, transport et contexte local. L’emplacement marche bien pour Armenia Street, bars, cafés, clubs, marchés proches, spots de manoushe et minibus ou vans depuis la grande route. Ce n’est pas la version polie et centrale-touriste de Beyrouth, et le secteur Quarantine/côté port autour peut sembler semi-industriel, calme ou désert au premier abord.
Signaux à vérifier
- L’eau chaude peut être irrégulière, et le Wi-Fi peut être faible dans les chambres ou la nuit.
- La propreté est inégale, avec de graves plaintes sur lits, salles de bain, odeurs et possibles punaises.
- Les installations sont basiques et anciennes ; chaleur d’été, clim limitée, coupures et salles de bain partagées peuvent être rough.
- L’emplacement est utile pour Armenia Street et les transports, mais ce n’est pas downtown et ça peut sembler isolé après la nuit.
- L’auberge a une forte personnalité ; l’énergie sociale est une feature, mais elle peut ne pas convenir à quelqu’un voulant un séjour calme et poli.
