It was really nice eating with everyone in the evening ! Rami is a really unique and funny guy. I'm sure He is a great guide for exploring the city. Unfortunately, the filth in the beds made me leave... A smell of gym and stale tobacco, a blanket that hadn't been washed in years, and traces of bedbugs in the pillow. I've stayed in dozens of hostels in my life but this one was really too dirty for me. I'd rather pay more and sleep in a reasonably clean bed.

AVOID THIS PLACE! I honestly wonder why Google even allows a one-star rating for places like this — there should be an option for negative stars. This is by far the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. If you want to ruin your holiday with bed bugs, go ahead — I’ve got around thirty or more itchy bites after just one night. The place is filthy, and even if you’re exhausted, it’s better to leave and stay outside than spend a night here. I thought staying for one night wouldn’t be so bad, but it only got worse. Please, avoid this place if you can. I truly hope they start taking better care of it; otherwise, they should just close it down.

Booked the hostel off its 9.2 rating but I have no idea how it got it You know when you’re at the floor of the hostel because the smell of the toilet hits you pretty quickly the mattress’ with no sheets are black and one guest even mentioned bed bugs Then there is the bathroom with the shower covered in rubbish on the floor It’s far from everything, a uber is minimum $5US each way Lost my $5 key deposit at check out at 9:30am because the staff was asleep How did it ever get a 9.2 rating?

La cena familiar nocturna de 5 dolares es el pulso de The Colony Beirut Hostel: cocina casera libanesa, energia de mesa larga y conversacion facil liderada especialmente por Rami. Le da al lugar un ritmo social incorporado, asi que los backpackers solos no tienen que trabajar mucho para encontrar compania. El hostel tiene terraza, zonas comunes para pasar el rato, habitaciones compartidas y privadas, y literas de dormitorio que suelen ser comodas con un poco de privacidad. El mood es calido, divertido y conversador, con staff que puede ayudar con tips de Beirut, transporte y contexto local. La ubicacion funciona bien para Armenia Street, bares, cafes, clubes, mercados cercanos, lugares de manoushe y minibuses o vans desde la avenida principal. No es la version pulida y turistica-central de Beirut, y la zona alrededor de Quarantine/puerto puede sentirse semi-industrial, tranquila o desierta al principio.
Señales a revisar
- El agua caliente puede ser inconsistente, y el Wi-Fi puede ser debil en habitaciones o de noche.
- La limpieza es irregular, con quejas serias sobre camas, banos, olores y posibles chinches.
- Las instalaciones son basicas y antiguas; el calor de verano, AC limitado, cortes y banos compartidos pueden ser duros.
- La ubicacion es util para Armenia Street y transporte, pero no es downtown y puede sentirse aislada despues de oscurecer.
- El hostel tiene mucha personalidad; la energia social es una virtud, pero puede no servir a quien quiera una estadia tranquila y pulida.
