It is a nice hostel-like lodge in the green mountains near Santa Marta. The forrest path up to the lodge from Minca is extremely bad and only accessible on foot (1 hr up hill), or with an expensive 4x4, or on the back of an uncomfortable motor bike. The lodge has great views to the surrounding mountains and valleys and offers a beautiful sunset from the terraces around the heated pool. Our room was OK, although a bit noisy, and the mattresses were extremely hard. We did not mind the ants, spiders and other bugs in our room, because that is what you can expect in a lodge in the jungle. I did however mind the bedbugs that feasted on me during the nights. Apart from the nuisance and itch during the nights and days, we had to make sure that the bed bugs would not infest our home once we unpacked at home. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful, and most of the food was good and tasteful. The surroundings are nice. Do go to the next door coffee and cacao farm for a tour. Go to some waterfalls. The Marinka waterfalls are very nice.

Dirty place with a bed bugs, small rooms, 1 toilet, very far away from the city, unplasent stuff. It's a hotel not Hostel. Only good thing about the place is an autstending view. Cold weather in the shower for this money??!! Avoid at all costs.

Dirty place, full of insects. I had bed bugs in my bed, aldow I had net in place and was covered something bitten me all the night. It is 1h of a jeep ride from the town and the cost of it is 80000cop. They do not allow you to prepare your food or have your alcohol derfore it's not a Hostel but a Hotel. You need to aplly to strict and very inconvenient hours of meels wich are 7:30-9;13:00;19:00 sharp. Throw its clearly their folt to have insects and bed bugs they charged me for 2 nights aldow I stayed only one because I was sick of the place. In night it is cold and the the shower is even colder. There is only one bathroom and one shower for all the dorms. Dorm is extremely small in the room wich should be 4 beds there are 8. Terrible place. I wonder how it happened that it had a good notes. Vibe-Analyse
Der Infinity-Pool auf dem Hügel ist das Main Event: weite Berg- und Santa-Marta-Blicke, große Sonnenuntergangsenergie und genug ruhiger Raum rund um die Lodge, um ganze Tage mit Lesen, Schwimmen, Ausstrecken in Hängematten oder sehr bewusstem Nichtstun zu verbringen. Mundo Nuevo Eco Lodge fühlt sich eher wie ein ruhiges Natur-Retreat an als wie ein Partyhostel, mit sauberen Zimmern, warmen Duschen in mindestens einigen Dorm-Setups, bequemen Betten und einer Lage, die die Fahrt bergauf wert macht. Mahlzeiten sind ein echter Teil des Aufenthalts. Es gibt keine Gemeinschaftsküche, also passieren Frühstück, Lunch und Abendessen vor Ort, oft zu festen Zeiten und an gemeinsamen Tischen. Das Essen ist meist vegetarisch, mit guten Portionen, frischer farm-style Küche und gelegentlichen Add-ons wie Eiern oder Fleisch. Der gemeinsame Dinner-Rhythmus macht den Ort sozial, ohne ihn rowdy werden zu lassen; nach dem Abendessen wird es tendenziell ruhig. Die Lage funktioniert am besten fürs Bleiben oder als langsame Base für nahe Natur. Kaffee- und Kakao-Farm-Walks, Birdwatching, Yoga, Wanderungen, Wasserfälle, ein nahes indigenes Dorf, viele Vögel, Schmetterlinge und der gelegentliche Tukan passen alle in die Szene. Staff ist generell warm und hands-on, mit Service, der Namen merkt, und viel Hilfe bei der kleinen Logistik, die oben in den Hügeln zählt.
Signale zum Prüfen
- Die Lodge liegt außerhalb von Minca und braucht normalerweise ein Moto-Taxi oder eine 4x4-Fahrt eine steile Straße hinauf; Hin und Her kann Kosten und Reibung addieren.
- Es gibt keine Gemeinschaftsküche, also plane damit, vor Ort zu essen. Mahlzeiten können teuer wirken, und beim Abendessen kann die Auswahl begrenzt sein.
- Das ist ein ruhiger Ort mit frühen Nächten, keine Party-Base.
- Die Casita kann eine schwächere Wahl sein, wenn verlässlicher Strom wichtig ist; Stromausfälle waren dort ein Problem.
- Ein paar Basics können je nach Zimmer oder Timing variieren, darunter Dorm-Platz, Matratzenkomfort, Beleuchtung nachts und Service-Wärme.
