Mundo Nuevo Eco Lodge

Great place, beautiful atmosphere, however BED BUGS here! I told the staff but they didn't get rid of them! Please take action Mundo Nuevo!!!!

It is a nice hostel-like lodge in the green mountains near Santa Marta. The forrest path up to the lodge from Minca is extremely bad and only accessible on foot (1 hr up hill), or with an expensive 4x4, or on the back of an uncomfortable motor bike. The lodge has great views to the surrounding mountains and valleys and offers a beautiful sunset from the terraces around the heated pool. Our room was OK, although a bit noisy, and the mattresses were extremely hard. We did not mind the ants, spiders and other bugs in our room, because that is what you can expect in a lodge in the jungle. I did however mind the bedbugs that feasted on me during the nights. Apart from the nuisance and itch during the nights and days, we had to make sure that the bed bugs would not infest our home once we unpacked at home. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful, and most of the food was good and tasteful. The surroundings are nice. Do go to the next door coffee and cacao farm for a tour. Go to some waterfalls. The Marinka waterfalls are very nice.

Dirty place with a bed bugs, small rooms, 1 toilet, very far away from the city, unplasent stuff. It's a hotel not Hostel. Only good thing about the place is an autstending view. Cold weather in the shower for this money??!! Avoid at all costs.

Dirty place, full of insects. I had bed bugs in my bed, aldow I had net in place and was covered something bitten me all the night. It is 1h of a jeep ride from the town and the cost of it is 80000cop. They do not allow you to prepare your food or have your alcohol derfore it's not a Hostel but a Hotel. You need to aplly to strict and very inconvenient hours of meels wich are 7:30-9;13:00;19:00 sharp. Throw its clearly their folt to have insects and bed bugs they charged me for 2 nights aldow I stayed only one because I was sick of the place. In night it is cold and the the shower is even colder. There is only one bathroom and one shower for all the dorms. Dorm is extremely small in the room wich should be 4 beds there are 8. Terrible place. I wonder how it happened that it had a good notes.
