Great place, beautiful atmosphere, however BED BUGS here! I told the staff but they didn't get rid of them! Please take action Mundo Nuevo!!!!

It is a nice hostel-like lodge in the green mountains near Santa Marta. The forrest path up to the lodge from Minca is extremely bad and only accessible on foot (1 hr up hill), or with an expensive 4x4, or on the back of an uncomfortable motor bike. The lodge has great views to the surrounding mountains and valleys and offers a beautiful sunset from the terraces around the heated pool. Our room was OK, although a bit noisy, and the mattresses were extremely hard. We did not mind the ants, spiders and other bugs in our room, because that is what you can expect in a lodge in the jungle. I did however mind the bedbugs that feasted on me during the nights. Apart from the nuisance and itch during the nights and days, we had to make sure that the bed bugs would not infest our home once we unpacked at home. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful, and most of the food was good and tasteful. The surroundings are nice. Do go to the next door coffee and cacao farm for a tour. Go to some waterfalls. The Marinka waterfalls are very nice.

Dirty place with a bed bugs, small rooms, 1 toilet, very far away from the city, unplasent stuff. It's a hotel not Hostel. Only good thing about the place is an autstending view. Cold weather in the shower for this money??!! Avoid at all costs.

Dirty place, full of insects. I had bed bugs in my bed, aldow I had net in place and was covered something bitten me all the night. It is 1h of a jeep ride from the town and the cost of it is 80000cop. They do not allow you to prepare your food or have your alcohol derfore it's not a Hostel but a Hotel. You need to aplly to strict and very inconvenient hours of meels wich are 7:30-9;13:00;19:00 sharp. Throw its clearly their folt to have insects and bed bugs they charged me for 2 nights aldow I stayed only one because I was sick of the place. In night it is cold and the the shower is even colder. There is only one bathroom and one shower for all the dorms. Dorm is extremely small in the room wich should be 4 beds there are 8. Terrible place. I wonder how it happened that it had a good notes. A piscina infinita no topo da colina é o evento principal: vistas amplas das montanhas e de Santa Marta, energia forte de pôr do sol e espaço quieto suficiente ao redor do lodge para passar dias inteiros lendo, nadando, se esticando nas redes ou fazendo muito pouco de propósito. O Mundo Nuevo Eco Lodge parece mais um retiro calmo na natureza do que um party hostel, com quartos limpos, chuveiros quentes em pelo menos algumas configurações de dormitório, camas confortáveis e um cenário que faz a subida valer a pena. As refeições são uma parte real da estadia. Não há cozinha compartilhada, então café da manhã, almoço e jantar acontecem no local, muitas vezes em horários fixos e ao redor de mesas compartilhadas. A comida costuma ser vegetariana, com boas porções, cozinha fresca estilo fazenda e ocasionais extras como ovos ou carne. O ritmo do jantar compartilhado deixa o lugar social sem virar bagunça; tende a ficar quieto depois da comida. A localização funciona melhor para ficar por ali ou usar o lodge como base lenta para a natureza próxima. Caminhadas por fazendas de café e cacau, birdwatching, yoga, trilhas, cachoeiras, uma aldeia indígena próxima, muitos pássaros, borboletas e o tucano ocasional combinam com a cena. A equipe geralmente é acolhedora e presente, com serviço que lembra nomes e bastante ajuda para organizar as pequenas logísticas que importam lá no alto das colinas.
Sinais para conferir
- O lodge fica fora da cidade de Minca e normalmente precisa de mototáxi ou 4x4 por uma estrada íngreme; ir e voltar pode adicionar custo e atrito.
- Não há cozinha compartilhada, então planeje comer no local. As refeições podem parecer caras, e o jantar pode ter pouca escolha.
- É um lugar quieto e de noite cedo, não uma base de festa.
- A casita pode ser uma escolha mais fraca se energia confiável importa; cortes de luz já foram um problema ali.
- Alguns básicos podem variar por quarto ou momento, incluindo espaço no dormitório, conforto do colchão, iluminação à noite e acolhimento do serviço.
