Bamboo Beach

We stayed at Bamboo Travellers twice, on two separate occasions, for one night each time. We booked a private room with an ensuite bathroom through Booking.com, and the staff were always very quick and helpful when replying to our messages. We later found a better deal at Sailors, just a street away, but could only stay there for one night because our booking with Bamboo Travellers was non-refundable. Before arriving, we had read reviews mentioning bed bugs, so we were a little worried and thoroughly inspected the beds and room. Fortunately, we didn’t have any issues at all during either stay. The rooms were clean, and the housekeeping staff were very friendly. During our second stay, the lady who checked us in was especially lovely. The rest of the reception staff were fine, but nothing particularly stood out. One downside was the noise. It’s quite loud, especially on weekends, and we were woken up several times during the night. Another disappointment was the hot water,it was never really hot, just lukewarm. The location is convenient, but apart from that, there’s nothing particularly special about the property.

Some beds had bedbugs and it didn't feel like they were trying to fix it. I relocated to a partner hostel.

I stayed at Bamboo Backpackers for one night and unfortunately it was by far the worst accommodation experience I’ve ever had. When I checked in, they didn’t have my reservation on record, despite the fact that I had a confirmed booking and had already paid in full. I had to show them my confirmation and proof of payment, and I had also been messaging them beforehand, so this was incredibly frustrating to deal with on arrival. I had originally booked a double room with an en-suite, but after the confusion at check-in I was placed in a twin room with no private bathroom instead. I was told I would be refunded the difference, which was already frustrating after a long day of travelling. To make matters worse, someone else was already in the room that had initially been assigned to me. The cleanliness was absolutely unacceptable. There were bed bugs, the bedsheets were dirty, and the entire place felt filthy. It looked nothing like the photos online, which was incredibly misleading. Another major issue was that I wasn’t given a room key, meaning every time I left the room I had no way to lock it from the outside. This made it extremely inconvenient and left me feeling very uneasy about the safety of my belongings. I did try to book into other hotels in the Nadi area, but unfortunately everything else nearby was fully booked, so I had no choice but to stay here for the night. I’m actually sitting at the airport as I write this, and I have found bed bugs in my backpack crawling over me. My skin is still itchy, and now I have the added stress of worrying about bringing bed bugs home with me, which is honestly disgusting and incredibly upsetting. To be fair, they have since refunded me, although the process was frustrating as I was initially told I would be refunded, then later told I wouldn’t be, before the refund was eventually processed. My advice to anyone travelling to Nadi: avoid this place and pay the little bit extra for somewhere else.

Bedbugs in my capsule bed, asked if i can upgrade, upgraded but charged me, not even a curiosity upgrade for issues. Choose the best room they had. Cockroaches in the bathtub, i found a rat winning in the toilet bowl one morning (do you know how filthy a place has to be to has rats on the second floor) … again like there sister property bluewater, too much too even get into it, pay the extra and stay somewhere else.

We got bedbugs from the bed, so many small bites all over the body unfortunately in this hotel. Only place in whole south pacific trips and of all islands.

Bed bugs :( if it wasn't for that my stay would have been great. Owner needs to step up, too many comments about this and not much the staff can do besides offering to clean the room, change sheets and change beds. No kitchen, only a kettle. Buy your own coffee or tea. Wish we could at least do some eggs or pasta. They have a fridge and microwave in the reception, that's it.

Camera sporca, lenzuola sporche, no aria condizionata, solo un rumoroso ventilatore al soffitto con una sola velocità, che fa venire il mal di testa. C'era un lavandino in camera, ovviamente non funzionante. Bagni non particolarmente puliti, una sola doccia per donne con acqua calda limitata. Nessun sapone a disposizione o salviette. A seguito di recensioni riguardo furti e cimici da letto, abbiamo preso le dovute precauzioni e avendo già pagato siamo rimaste nella struttura ma non la consiglio assolutamente.

Bedbugs!! Stay away!! We moved out in the middle of the night.

Think they had bed bugs in the other dorm rooms while I was there. No lock on the pod room door but lockers available in the room. Limited space for bags.

We had a private room. First night we came back to the room and there was a mouse in one of our bags! There are big gaps under the doors so anything can get in the room. We switched rooms (at 1am) to one with reptile poo on the bed and insects in the bed - possibly bed bugs, but we don’t know - every morning we woke up with new bites. The shower was like a weak tap, never once felt clean here. Staff are very loud, they are outside on the phone at the front of hotel (gaps in windows/under doors) so you can hear them loudly talking, early morning moving things and sweeping loudly. We were so glad to leave. We looked around and this is clearly the worst, most run down accommodation in this area.

Avoid this hostel at all costs! I booked 3 nights but left after 2. No sleep with music until 4am, rats in the rooms, bedbugs, cold showers and thieves. I left a bag in their “secure” storage and came back to find my chocolate destroyed (by rats) and my expensive perfume missing. Staff pretended to be surprised and offered no help. Worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in — don’t make the same mistake! Do yourself a favor: spend a little more and stay somewhere else.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! We saw live adult bed bugs!!! After searching reviews this seems to be a long standing issue. Do not risk it

Usually noisy in the evening until midnight due to live band performance at The Beach Club. Rooms facing the backyard would be less disturbed. Too many overpriced taxis around. Need to walk 200m to find taxis that are willing to use the meter. 16-bed dorm room is infested with bedbugs. Upstairs 24-bed dorm has no bedbugs.

Bon, par contre soyons honnêtes : Il y a des punaises de lit dans les dortoirs et les capsules On a dormi en chambre individuel : aucun soucis Puis dans les dortoirs et les lits capsules : punaises de lit Partez du principe qu’il y en a, écartez vos affaires des lits et tout ira bien ! Nous n’en avons pas ramené malgré quasi 10j là-bas Aussi : pas de cuisine et vols dans les frigo (et entendu parler de vols de cash) Beaucoup de points négatifs, mais c’est les Fijis et dans l’ensemble y aura des punaises de lit partout si vous visez des logements peu chers !

BED BUGS. I stayed 1 night in 24-bed dorm on upper deck was fine. When I switched to 16-bed dorm for the 2nd night, I felt itchy on my back at midnight and then I found 2 bedbugs crawling around on the white bedsheet at shoulder and neck area.. I went out to reception & found a staff. He immediately knew I was at the last bed at the corner. He arranged for me to take the empty bed at the entrance. I took a clean sheet and slept on it. After a few minutes, a bed bug showed up at the same shoulder area of the bedsheet. I then went outside the room sitting at the front yard. Got some mosquito bites. Arranged to get empty bed in 24-bed dorm. No shared kitchen for guests.

BEDBUGS, BEDBUGS, BEDBUGS After the first night of staying in room 14b, I was covered in bedbug bites. The second night was slightly better as I slept with the lights on as bedbugs are nocturnal so i was hoping this would keep them away. I complained to reception on the third night and they attempted to make things better by moving me to a better room. However, the next day I was told that I need to go back to room 14b where the bedbugs were originally, which i rejected. So they put me in another room. Within an hour, I was then told that I need to leave the new room because of an error on their part. Again I told them no. At this point I vented my frustration with dealing with two nights of bedbugs and management that couldn't get their act together. Im sure they will leave a comment like they have done before about taking care of this issue with bedbugs but this isnt a new issue for them. Honestly, do yourself a favour and avoid this place if you dont want your time on Fiji ruined by bedbugs and management that can't get their act together

Réaction passive du personnel à ce sujet -Meubles sales -La prise électrique reliée à la clim était HS -La réception n'avait jamais de monnaie : pas pratique au moment d'acheter de l'eau ou de payer une machine -Machine à laver le linge facturés 20$ sans sèche linge. initialement, on nous avait parlé de 15$ mais 5$ supplémentaires ont été facturés car notre machine était sois disant trop remplie (quelqu'un du personnel l'a donc mise en pause et vidée pour nous en faire lancer deux au lieu d'une, et ce sans nous prévenir) -On vous propose de vous réserver un taxi pour l'aéroport à 20$, alors que nous avons payé 15$ en trouvant nous même notre chauffeur

DON‘T STAY HERE !BEDBUGS! I stayed here for five nights. The staff is relatively friendly and the room itself is fine but multiple people moved out because they got bitten by bed bugs. It mostly happened in the 16 people dorm. I have plenty of mosquito bites so I feel pretty confident to say that those bites are different. I wasn’t bitten in the first few nights but I wouldn’t risk staying here again. There are also mouses and my swimshorts were stolen from the clothing line.

Bed bugs. Dirty shower. Constant noise from dogs, bars, planes. Did not feel safe at all.

Bed bugs as you can read in the google reviews. I found one under my pillow and immediately moved to another place. Bed bugs are the worst for travellers, don’t consider staying there

Innan vi kom till boendet såg vi att recensionerna på Hostelworld som beskrev att boendet hade BEDBUGS. Vi åkte dit och fick vårat rum och mycket riktigt såg det ut som att de fanns BEDBUGS. Vi fick ett annat uppgraderat rum. Verkar som Fiji har mycket problem med just detta så bra att ha i åtanke.

While lying down that evening, I felt something biting me. I quickly switched on my phone light to see and to my surprise two bed bugs were on the bed sheet which I instantly kill 😞. It stained blood on the white sheet. The room was dusty. I still found traces of long hair on the bed ( mind you I have very short hair ).

Bed bugs!!! Really gross. No kitchen and bad quality shower. Staff play really loud music until the early hours of the morning. Also front desk staff try to pressure people in booking their entire stay on the islands through them.

BED BUGS I woke up at night to myself and my belongings covered in bed bugs. I saw at least ten of them on my bed alone. The hostel is infested. I went down to reception to report it and they have known that there are bed bugs and simply do not care and will not clean. DO NOT STAY HERE. YOU WILL GET BED BUGS. I now have to disinfect all of my belongings and the hostel is refusing a refund.

There was bed bugs and I was bitten several times. The water would run out several times during the day. However the staff are lovely, it’s right next to a beach club and the beach.

The place was full of bed bugs. I tried 3 beds (bottom and top of the bunk bed in the single room I booked and one in the 6 bed dorm) and they all had bed bugs, I didn't sleep for one minute that night

Everyone working at Bamboo is amazing and had a good vibe. The location and the price are good. However, I don't suggest anybody staying there due to the same reason of all the other reviews: Bed Bugs. I did make a complain during check out and all I got was an apology, they made no effort to understand where I was staying or took any action to solve the situation. Therefore, the issue will just remain and there is no need to compromise your time in Fiji because of that. It sure compromised mine

Es hat überall Bettwanzen! Allgemein war es nicht sehr sauber.

No reception at night meaning they couldn’t help with bed bugs complaint. Not the only group who had nowhere to sleep because of this.

The place is infested with bed bugs! I found some in my suitcase on my way back home from Fiji, the price is good but save yourself the trouble of having to disinfect your whole house and go somewhere else!

BED BUGS!! we booked four nights here and didn’t stay for any. Don’t recommend!! Book smugglers cove just up the road instead
