Buenosdias Izamal
Vibe Analysis
A cenote-fed natural pool is the headline at Buenosdias Izamal: cool, clean water in a rocky, organic-looking basin, with hammocks and a terrace for lazy heat recovery after wandering Izamal. Rooms are generally simple, spacious, clean, and comfortable, with AC, fans, good Wi-Fi, and in some rooms a kitchenette, mini fridge, or sink. Free drinking water and coffee are usually available in the common area, and the place sits in a quiet residential pocket roughly 10-15 minutes on foot from the center. The strongest part is the hosting. Lucia and the team bring a warm, personal style, with practical food and town tips, French and other languages in the mix, and small touches like birthday help, mangos from the garden, flexible checkout, or coffee chats. It feels more like a small cared-for hotel than a social party hostel.
Signals to check
- Cleanliness and maintenance are inconsistent: the high points are very clean, but the lows are serious, including dirty rooms, humid smells, ants or roaches, worn bathroom fixtures, and a pool that was not always kept up.
- Noise can be an issue from dogs, roosters, birds, street music, or a nearby bar and party venue, including late-night music on bad nights.
- The center is walkable, but it can feel a bit far at night or without a vehicle.
- Kitchenettes may be lightly equipped, card payment may be awkward or unavailable, and AC can run on a timer in certain rooms.
