Hostal El Amigo Lucho is a budget San Pedro base with the right ingredients on paper: pool, shared kitchen, grill area, common room/game space, parking, dogs, and rooms that can land clean, warm, and comfortable. It is walkable to the Caracoles/main-street zone, but not right on top of it, so it suits people who are fine cooking, coming back from tours, and treating the place as a practical base. The upside is the kitchen, pool, friendly staff, safe parking, and a homey desert-casa feel. There is some light social potential around the kitchen and shared spaces, but it reads more like a guesthouse than an integration-heavy hostel, so do not book it expecting organized backpacker rituals. The downside pattern is loud and consistent: hot water, heating, water pressure, and Wi-Fi can fail; cleaning and bedding quality swing hard; and noise or owner/family use of the property can wreck rest.
