HI Vancouver Downtown

Terrible Hostel! We had BEDBUGS in our privateroom! When we told them, the manager reacted hysterically and dismissively. Kitchen was not clean and badly equipted. We DONT recommend this Hostel!

A nice location and price, but had bed bugs, so probably never again lol (room 411 bottom bed in case the hostel sees this)

This hostel was generally ok. Pros: The location is not bad- 1 mile to Convention center via Thurlow or Burrard. Close to Davie street that has alot of restaurants. Also an IGA is close by if you get on to Burrard. The neighborhood was quiet most days. Has private rooms, game room and out door patio and a kitchen to cook your own food. Beds clean with no bed bugs like some other Vancouver hostels. Lockers in room were large. Three shower stalls in each bathroom and also three toilets There is a mens and womens shower room on each floor. Cons: Rooms were very very very hot. Average temp was 27 Celsius or 80 F the whole time. Small fan in room helped a little. i could not sleep it was so hot and was sleep deprived most of the time in Vancouver. Hostel staff knows but can do nothing about the heat. So, rooms got a little stinky from sweat and feet smell . The doors do not close quietly and are very loud. Do not get a room next to the showers. the Bunk beds are made of wood and so creak alot. It took about five swipes each time to unlock door to room. Every day the smell of dope filled the hall ways so some people are smoking pot in rooms. This is a fire hazard and makes every thing smell like pot. Only since my room mates did not smell like dope and tried to be quiet, gives the hostel 3 stars other wise in general two stars for show and rooms and maybe 2.5 stars for the rest of the hostel. if in a hurry to get a room, this place is okay but keep looking.
