Ikiru to Live
Vibe Analysis
Ikiru to Live is a simple, quiet Surabaya homestay that works best as a clean crash pad before or after transit, Bromo, Ijen, Malang, or an airport run. Rooms are usually plain but comfortable, with working AC, hot water in many bathrooms, good beds, and a calm side-street setting. Ruby is a real strength here. Help can include late arrival support, early check-in when possible, train or bus tickets, local planning, laundry, transfers, scooter rental, and tour arrangements. The place feels more practical and caring than party-heavy. Free water and coffee are usually available, and there is a small shared kitchen or pantry setup with fridge, tables, and sometimes toaster use. Breakfast can be ordered, with simple Indonesian or European-style options, and nearby streets have local food, minimarts, cafes, and supermarkets. This is not the social beast mode version of Surabaya. It is better for rest, errands, clean sheets, and getting your next move sorted than for meeting a big crew.
Signals to check
- The atmosphere can be very quiet, with little happening socially.
- Some bathrooms and older room details can feel worn, dated, or not fully fresh.
- Ground-floor rooms near the kitchen or common area can pick up noise.
- Private-room bookings may need reconfirming before arrival.
- The location is a bit away from the old town and some train stations, though taxis and scooter rides are usually easy.
