ECO Hostel

They had bed bugs and knew it. I was infected and it was a pretty mortifying and physically terrible experience. This was 3 months ago but I’m finally getting around to a revue. I didn’t know until the next day after I’d checked out so my next hostel had to help me fumigate all my clothes and bag... When I first called ECO they feigned ignorance but then admitted they knew they had a problem. Super frustrating. Funny thing is I would have left a 1 star review regardless because they had insanely loud construction directly next to my head from 6:30 am the entire day that they knew about and didn’t inform me. I would 100% not have booked there knowing this. The beds itself are so hard to climb up into as well. No real atmosphere at the hostel. Stay anywhere else.

Nice staff and activities. Good location. Modern spacious accommodations since its supposedly a newer hostel. Cafe in the lobby. Showers are on a timer. A/C in rooms. Unfortunately they have a serious bed bug infestation. My time in Granada was very negatively impacted as I spent sleepless nights getting bitten and packing/unpacking to change rooms in the middle of the night. Even after changing rooms 3 times, I was horrified to find that I was still getting bit and seeing even larger bed bugs on the bed and walls. I was oddly the only one in both rooms of 6 despite them claiming they were fully booked and at capacity and having a hard time finding where to switch me to, so it seems perhaps someone in the staff knew about this problem, did not communicate it, and still allowed the rooms to be used, which is very bad. Ultimately they refunded me, cleansed my things and I had to spend my last night in another hotel nearby (which, they could have been more helpful in calling nearby places to help me find another place to stay considering the timing. I called around myself and had to incur international fees on my phone because the girl was being lazy and just wanted to look at places online which is not helpful at 6 in the morning when it is and odd checkin time). My sneakers also went missing from the first room that I had to switch from which is upsetting since I am still traveling afterwards and those were the only athletic shoes I had on this trip. Between that and the bed bug bites that are still itching and leaving dark marks on me it is hard to leave a good review at this time, but I do believe once they thoroughly cleanse their rooms and discard the matresses, this will be a fine place to stay. I am leaving this review purely for other travelers to be aware that this bed bug thing is still a current problem so that they can make informed decisions because as I am looking at the other reviews now, I see that it was mentioned before and I did not think it would still be and issue, but it is.
