Bed bug reports

I was bitten by bedbugs at this hostel. As a result, I felt unwell for a day and a half, which really put a damper on my stay in Ireland.

Sehr unsauber (Zimmer hat gestunken, Bettwanzenstiche!!, Sanitäranlagen ekelig) Nicht für jede Person einen Spind

Hostel bed madras were full of bed bugs that I didn't know about till later. I suffered itchiness in several places of my body (neck, right hand and right leg). I regret staying over there. Never again.

They take up to a day to answer messages on Booking, even if they have 24/7 reception. Most of the time nobody is at the reception desk, if you need something or have questions I don't know what you are supposed to do. Travelling is time-sensitive and the hostel should respect that. I was lucky there was someone when I checked in. Unlike the photos, the beds are bunk beds, and they are not the best. They are not secured to the wall and they swing when you get on the top bunk, which is unsafe. The mattress protectors had rips. The window was frosted glass and you couldn't see outside at all unless you opened it. Cleaning staff don't knock on the door before entering, even if they are men. They need some hooks for hanging things in the rooms and the bathrooms, and a chair in the room. You can't change the water temperature in the shower (which is operated by a button that gives you water for a while, then you have to press it again) but the temp was good for me. They do not have hairdryers at all! I had to bring my own. The toilets and showers downstairs are unisex, which is great, but they are not single-stall and it's not ok in this case. Upstairs everything is single-stall. The kitchen is not for all guests, and you don't have access to a fridge or microwave except if you have access to the kitchen. Some guests are dubious, they drink and smoke in front of the hostel and pick on you as you enter - not fun.
