Die Küche öffnete erst um 8:00Uhr. Pilger, die früh los müssen und gerne Kaffee trinken wollen würden, können dies nicht tun. Aber das Personal hatte uns auf unsere Bitte hin trotzdem früher aufgeschlossen.

Bedbugs(!) + There was a rude recepcionist when I am changing my reservation days. I dont know who is organizing the reservations but s/he need to be more kind and profesional if they have an issue with a customer. I was so annoyed and suprised about the language they use!

  3. Confirmed Booking.com

There where bed bugs in my bed and I had bites everywhere :/

Vibe Analysis

Santander Central Hostel is almost glued to the bus and train stations, with the city centre, shops, restaurants, markets, and the cathedral close by. It works especially well as a practical Santander stop: easy arrival, easy exit, and a short hop into the centre. The common setup is the best part. There is a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area, a lounge with sofas, books, board games, and a large TV with Netflix. The shared spaces can feel warm and sociable, with an easy setup for meeting other travelers, cooking something quick, or decompressing on the puffs after a travel day. Rooms and bathrooms are usually clean, and beds may include curtains, lockers, and small fans. The place can also feel basic and tightly managed: dorms may be hot, crowded, or short on ventilation, lockers are small, and creaky bunks or thin separation can make sleep uneven. Service is a real split-brain variable. The volunteer team and reception can be kind, helpful, and welcoming, while the owner/manager has a pattern of strict rules, tense interactions, cash/card friction, booking cancellations, and inflexible access to common areas during cleaning or late-night hours.
