They have bed bugs and they know it and they refused to give me a refund after initally saying they will refund (only 1 night) of our multi night stay (ONLY the 1 night we found the bed bugs even though we were bit for multiple nights). Staff handled the bed bug situation badly. We lost money having to book a new stay and ruinned some clothes after the necisary sanitation procedures (that we paid for ourself). ALL the bunks were infested. Probably wouldnt have posted this if the staff didnt handle this situation with a lack of empathy... so beware if you want to avoid bed bugs.

J'ai écourté mon séjour (ce qui m'a fait perdre de l'argent) car il y avait des punaises de lit. Je pensais que c'était une découverte pour le staff mais j'ai vu que certains commentaires récents le mentionnaient aussi... J'ai été piquée plusieurs fois et j'ai dû m'organiser pour éviter d'en ramener chez moi, une expérience très désagréable.

BETTWANZEN!!! Leider wurde ich in 2 Nächten total zerfressen von Beztwanzen. Das aller schlimmste ist, die Reaktion an der Rezeption, da habe ich Bescheid gegeben, leider nur ein Achselzucken als Antwort erhalten …. Keine Entschuldigung ! Keine Kompensation! Kein schnelles Handeln!!!

Ostello della Gioventu Brindisi works best as a clean, practical Brindisi base near the airport, with easy bus access and the little ferry making the historic centre manageable. The building is modern, spacious, bright, and kept very tidy, with comfortable beds, large dorms, code access, lockers, and a calm terrace or garden area. The on-site bistro is one of the clearest useful features here. It gives the hostel coffee, breakfast, pastries, pasta, drinks, and a fallback food option when the nearby area feels thin on shops and restaurants. It also makes the place feel more like a simple small hotel than a classic backpacker hangout. Staff can be a real strength, especially for late arrivals, airport logistics, buses, taxis, local tips, and WhatsApp check-in help. The social side seems limited: this is more of a tidy transit base for Brindisi, Puglia side trips, flights, and ferries than a high-energy hostel built around meeting strangers.

- No self-catering kitchen; the bistro is the main on-site food option.
- The location is outside the centre, so buses, the ferry, or a long walk may be part of daily movement.
- Metal lockers, hallway movement, traffic, and shared-room noise can make light sleep harder.
