Terrible hostel. I got bed bugs here, and the staff dealt with the situation very poorly. No refund was offered, and there was no compensation for all the medical expenses to get the creams to treat the bed bugs all over my body. They did wash my clothes which was appreciated, so I could continue my travels without having bed bugs in my luggage. Besides this the hostel facilities are good and location is nice. But they need to have a way to respond better to situations like bed bugs.

Vibe Analysis
Feira Hostel & Suites has a terrace with castle and Perlim views, and in festive seasons it can even catch fireworks and drone shows from above the old quarter. That terrace, plus the shared kitchen, gives the place a small-house feel rather than a purely transactional bed stop. The strongest fit is a stay in the historic center of Santa Maria da Feira: pedestrian streets, restaurants, bars, bakeries, the castle, Convento dos Loios, and seasonal Perlim or Christmas-market action close by. Rooms are often spacious, clean, warm or well cooled, with comfortable beds, modern bathrooms, and a decorated look tied to the local setting. The human side is a big part of the place. Anabela and the team bring warm check-in energy, practical local tips, and an attentive breakfast rhythm. Breakfast is usually simple, with fresh coffee, croissants or bread, juice, and sometimes homemade pumpkin jam, garden fruit, and bakery bread.
Signals to check
- Street-facing rooms can be very loud at night because of the bar directly opposite; music and street noise may run until early morning, especially weekends or event periods.
- Sound also carries inside at times, including corridor noise, footsteps, neighboring TVs, and restaurant setup below.
- Nearby car access is limited in the pedestrian center, and parking can be difficult during big local events, though public parking may be available nearby.
- Breakfast can be basic, and dorm comfort is less consistent than private rooms; the dorm can be crowded and short on storage or privacy.
- One 2023 bed-bug incident and one later tobacco-smell room issue are worth factoring in.
