Bed bug reports

Confirmed Hostelworld
For my purposes, it was 10/10. They had a secure luggage room that locked so I could wander around the city until check in. Even without checking in completely, they gave me coffee and I used the bathroom. Rooms were cool but not cold. People were 20/30 something people from all over. Great for those that like hostels. This one did not have bed bugs which is always important to read reviews for. Shower spray was a bit thin and wide for my taste.

Thats my first time to leave a negative review to a hostel in my life due to the horrible condition. After leaving the hostel & going back home , my arms were full of bed bugs rash so please be careful !! & i have seen people complaining about this in other reviews aswell . Possible Hostelworld

The first time I stayed at the hostel, a few years ago, it was a very positive experience. The staff was excellent, and I had many wonderful moments there — everything was great. However, during my most recent stay, I felt the hostel could really use some renovations. The staff is doing their best, but some things are simply beyond their control. Unfortunately, my friend got bitten by bed bugs, which is completely unacceptable. They offered to pay for the laundry, but that doesn’t solve the problem.

Vibe Analysis
Onefam Waterloo is a lively hostel in a strong central location, with Lambeth North nearby and easy access to major parts of London. The social side is a big part of the stay: free dinner, day activities, and nights out are part of the routine. The staff is often friendly and helpful, and the hostel can feel welcoming for travelers who want an easy place to meet people. The kitchen is large, with fridge space, and the common areas are set up for shared meals and group time. Rooms tend to be cramped, with thin mattresses, triple bunks in some dorms, and limited storage. Cleanliness and maintenance can be uneven, and the building can feel old, noisy, and hot in summer.
Signals to check
- Some dorms are tight, with very limited locker space and little room for large bags.
- Showers and toilets can be limited, and warm water is not reliable on every floor.
- Noise can carry late into the night, so light sleepers may struggle.
