The bunk beds my daughter and i ended up with some kind of bug bites which i can only attribute to bed bugs

My daughter got bitten by bed bugs when we stayed here and it made her very itchy and uncomfortable. When we complained to management, and provided photos of numerous bites on her arms, stomach and back as they requested, they denied that the bites were from bed bugs. Very disappointing.

Bedbugs in the bed - had a sleepless night, bitten by bugs all night long. 60 bug bites on my body the next day - 10 on each arm/leg plus 15 on back. Other guests here wrote the same thing. They don't seem to disinfect the beds here - very gross.

I was welcomed by quite literally the rudest woman in Paris, which is saying a lot. Rolled her eyes when I asked what time check out was, gave me no direction, and didn’t give me a towel (which other guest received upon checking in with another receptionist). The same lady, 2 days later, screamed at me for touching one of the handheld fans they had for sale in the lobby. I’m not sure her name but she had orange-ish hair and was heavy set. Regardless of her appearance, she was extremely rude and continued to berate me in front of other guests. The first night I woke up with 7 mysterious bug bites on me (bed bugs, ants, spiders, i don’t known). There is no AC available in any of the rooms and the street outside is quite busy. I could hardly sleep my 3 nights there and was more than happy to leave. The only reason I did not give it one star is because the second floor with a bar and restaurant was quite cute, and the other members of the staff were friendly, especially Yves.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE! I booked to stay 2 nights and on check in, I made sure to check the mattress for signs of bed bugs and didnt see any. Returning from my first day out and laying in the bed for my first night there, at 2am, I immediately see that theres signs of bed bugs on the privacy curtains that each dorm bed has and immediately went to tell reception after taking a photo. The traces of bed bugs was on the inner side of the privacy curtain located right by my pillow case so i didnt notice it until i closed the curtain and was laying on my side looking in its direction. The receptions agreed that it looked like it could be signs of bed bugs but werent too sure and so they sent the picture to their manager, I believe her name was Yev. The manager proceeded to call the receptionist and was put on speaker where she adamantly denied that it was bed bugs as bed bugs dont leave traces like the ones in my photo and tried to convince me that many reputable sources and google were wrong and that she knew better as she was trained to detect it even though she only looked at the photo that she was sent for not even a minute. She admitted that the curtain was unhygienic and then gave me the options to be fully refunded and just leave at 2 am or to stick with bed. After pushing she then gave me the option of just switching rooms but i told her i have concerns that my luggage i was storing on the bed could be infected. She told me they had brought a dog to check for bed bugs a week prior and cleaned the infected rooms so she was 100% sure they werent bed bugs. Clearly the privacy curtain was not replaced and the bed i was in could have been one of the infested beds that were cleaned but not carefully or new bed bugs could have been introduced by a guest afterwards. After more arguing that i was not happy with the situations as I was not willing to sleep in the dorm, was not happy with their handling of the situation, and not willing to leave at 2 am without any other arrangement (which they said the would not help me make), I had to settle with sleeping in a different room for the night and getting a full refund to just leave paris in general earlier then schedule. In the morning, once the manager was there, i went to do the refund and check out, and a few minutes later i see that the refund amount on my banking app was less due to currency conversions but they also only refunded only one of the two payments that i made. they had charge my credit card about half of the cost at the time of booking and the rest was paid during check in. Instead of getting two refunds for each charge, i see the i got charged an additional 85 CAD and was refunded 70 CAD for the other one meaning my refund ended up totaling an additional 15 CAD in costs for me. I went back less than 15 minutes from having just checked out to ask and they showed me their system where they reduced my booking duration with some sort of charge and that the other actual payments were refund which confused me and didnt provide any answer as they could have charged me on a different room number (my old or my new), could have just hidden it, or charged me for switching rooms. They then told me there was nothing they could do and that I should just dispute it with my bank meaning i have to dispute all 4 charges individually. I had informed my sister of the situation and when she called me while i was there, to see it was resolved, the manager then threatened to call the police on me as she saw I was on my phone. DO NOT STAY HERE if you are expecting a clean bed and good service because the receptionists are nice but any advance assistance will not be adequately handled by the manager. Attached is the photo of the signs of bed bugs on the innerside of the curtains which i showed them and they said bed bugs dont make but if u look it up, i think its the same signs as the milder images but you can judge that for yourselves if u think its bed bugs or just unhygienic and whether the resolution they offered was up to standard.

I found signs of bed bugs on my privacy curtain late at night at 2AM as I focused on checking my mattress at check in. The manager looked at a photo & said I was 100% wrong and I could not trust google on how to check for bed bugs. She then gave me the option of staying in the unclean room or leaving at 2 AM stranded for a full refund which both were unacceptable to me. I slept in another room that night & left, & the refund wasnt processed properly so I have to now dispute it with my bank.

They have BED BUGS. One girl in my room was bitten. I also heard the same from my neighbors in other rooms. The personnel just took it as something regular that happens every day. I suppose all the room should have been cleaned after this case and all the bed linen should have been changed. But they just offered her another room, but no one changed the bed linen on the other beds. No one asked if we were fine or not.

(Bett)Wanzen!

I would have given a much better review but I just cannot. There was a bedbug on the curtain of my bed that I noticed when I was about to go to bed. I told the receptionist who came upstairs immediately to check and confirmed it that yes, it is a bedbug. He told me to wash all my clothes in the morning at a laundromat 10 minutes away, and he changed my room. As someone who is studying and wanted to take a break, this ruined my trip in a big way. I had to cancel plans with others, pay out of pocket for the cleaning, then take precaution before entering my home, etc.. I contacted them three times about this and they didn’t get back to me at all, other than a “We hope you enjoyed your stay” email. I would honestly advise booking an Airbnb or something.

Unfortunately, I got bed bugs here. I am certain. Ichy lumps on my arm. Hopefully I didnt bring any with me. The cleaning needs to be more thorough. The hostel is quite modern but there is no atmosphere, hard to meet others. It doesn't try to facilitate socializing at all. They care more about their bar and café which is open to the general public. Great location though. It wouldnt be hard to make it so much better. Afterall Paris is just not a good hostel city... and has lots of bed bugs !

This Hostel was fine, it’s close to a metro station, but everything is 20-30 minutes away via metro. Bathrooms were often flooded from showers, not really the hostel atmosphere. The kitchen for the entire hostel is equipped with two mini fridges. Someone took my things out of the fridge to out theirs in, so I had to throw my food away as it was left out. Another review mentioned bug bites, I have them too but its NOT bed bugs, they are mosquitoes from the open windows.

The timer for the shower. 10 seconds! Absolutely ridiculous. I learnt a new skill - how to shower one handed whilst holding onto the shower button thing. And the water pressure is woeful. My son found it difficult to wash his hair ...and he has short hair! My daughter and I decided not to even contemplate washing our hair. It is admirable to have an ethos of water saving etc, but this 10 second shower concept is an absolute joke! And as a "hostel" the communal kitchen facilities on L4 were pathetic. 2 small bar fridges for items. They were both full when we arrived (& stunk!) so there was no way we could store milk for cereal or yoghurts. And those that did have food in there, had notes to say "please don't steal my food". Really disappointed with the communal kitchen concept.. And 6-8 bar stools at a window bench for you to eat a meal at. Good luck with that. Can't call yourself a "hostel" if that is the grand sum total of space provided. Massive thumbs down. It really felt like the communal kitchen was an after thought.

Would give 3.5 instead of 3 if Google allowed. A decent well furnished hostel in a very good location. It's a bit overpriced for the amenities they have (which is none other than the bed). You pay extra for the breakfast, towel and padlock, and they don't have any shower gel in the showers. The staff was a bit clueless. Someone was using my locker and the staff couldn't figure out who or if there were any empty beds in my room I could switch to instead. I feel the number of washrooms is less compared to the crowd. I visited in November but I'm sure it'll get messy (and even more expensive) during peak seasons. There is a high end restaurant and bar inside the hostel which doesn't make sense to me since hostels usually cater to budget travellers. Also, not the most social hostel you'll visit. The kitchen area is probably the best bet for socialising, but the hostel is not cozy and built for socialising. Overall, choose it for the location, clean and well furnished rooms (no bedbugs, yay).

I hate to this, but the first room I was in, there was BED BUGS. I got into bed and there was at least 5 on the curtains. So I rushed out and went straight to reception. Luckily I was quick enough before they got on my skin or clothes ! The reception staff put me in another room thankfully. The room was also not cleaned for 4 days and no bins emptied... I was also unfortunate for having roommates who were not quiet until after 1am...

Great stay, very VERY clean (no sign of bed bugs at all!!). Shared facilities cleaned daily, very modern. Only slight issue is that my dorm door and the women’s bathroom door didn’t always close all the way automatically, so left the rooms vulnerable.

Staff were a bit rude and uninterested, I asked the woman at the desk what activities were on and she said she didn’t know. She was also chatting to other people whilst checking me in which was off putting. It’s quite an anti-social hostel and very quiet so if you’re looking to meet other travellers it’s hard. Others came down to the reception complaining of bed bugs which was a bit worrying.

I had previously stayed at this location in June 2022 and it was splendid. This time around it was a huge disappointment. Let me start off by saying that the first night I got in, there was no toilet paper or soap and I had to approach someone to get that sorted. On the second night, the window that lead to the Main Street would NOT lock/close. The room would become cold as it’s late nov. On my third and last night, I woke up and noticed a BED BUG in my bed. This made me uncomfortable and I simply could not

Absolutely dreadful! Worst hostel by far. BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK. I booked this hostel to stay for a week only to sleep in a bed filled with BEDBUGS. I found out in the middle of the night around 4AM and told them immediately. They eventually moved me into a new room… however, they did NOT move the 7 other people in that room where the infestation was nor inform them on the situation. Not only that, they put a NEW person in the same bed that had bedbugs. I was bit multiple times during my stay here but I brushed it off thinking it was mosquito bites. These bed bugs were fully grown, indicating that there has indeed been an infestation long before my arrival. There were also black dots/excrements on the curtains too. I’ve never had any bedbugs, not even at the last place I stayed yet they kept accusing me. When I asked for a refund for at least 2 of the nights, they reluctantly agreed but became quite rude after. They said, I’ll be staying in the new room so I won’t “infect” other dorms. Would not ever recommend.

Dreadful. Worst place I have stayed in Paris. The location of this hostel is decent but the lack of air conditioning isn’t as well advertised/as well known as it could be - other people moving into our room in the hostel were always surprised when there was no AC. There is also a panel that has a temperature on and you can change the temperature but changing the temperature does nothing - why does this panel even exist? It said 17°C but the room was actually more like 27°. The main curtains don’t really block light and the bed curtains don’t really cover the entire bed. The beds do have a mirror, small locker, lights, and USB charging ports - which is a bonus. However after staying a couple of nights, we woke up with bug bites - this could be a coincidence but after some Googling we realised that they look a lot like bed bug bites. Take from this what you will. You have to give the receptionist a form of ID to borrow a hairdryer - the lady I first spoke to said they needed a passport but I gave them my drivers license instead which was fine. They then take this from you and keep it in an unlocked drawer in the reception desk. Having to surrender my passport to an unlocked drawer in the foyer did not feel safe at all - especially as someone travelling to multiple countries. I understand that the hostel has opened recently but why not have hairdryers in the shared bathrooms, like other hostels do? Showers run for 6-10 seconds before needing to be turned on again - I understand that this is to save water and it was okay because I’d read other reviews but I’d have been confused if I didn’t know in advance. I also suggest you get breakfast elsewhere, there’s lots better around. The beds are comfortable but in summer the rooms are overwhelmingly hot - yes, the VMC finds it’s limitations in hot weather, but why have it at all when it does barely anything? In autumn or winter it might be bearable but in summer it was unbearably hot. Another thing that is uncommon here is that you have to pay for luggage storage before you check in and after you check out. This is rather rare for hostels like this, with most of them offering free luggage storage rooms. The charge was €6 euros for 6hours according to the guy at the reception desk. Overall, it is a very basic hostel with an unjustifiable price relative to the facilities and looks a lot better than the reality.
