Room that I upgraded bed seems to have a bed bug, I paid $96 in total to upgrade my room. Wrong choice not to go there again never in my life.

Halls were too hot in Nov at 25C Staff didnt sanitize or replace or even shake potential lice & bedbugs from bed comforters

  3. Confirmed Hostelworld

My check in was great and smooth. I stayed in a private room and got bit by bed bugs. The next morning I told the front desk and he said that they get the place checked once a month and it wasn’t possible even though I had been checked by a doctor. Would have appreciated some kind of compensation as I had to then get all my clothes taken care of.

Vibe Analysis

HI Kelowna is mostly a location play: close to downtown Kelowna, the waterfront, parks, bars, restaurants, shops, and bus connections. It can work for a short, cheap-ish stop when being central matters more than comfort or polish. The hostel has a large shared kitchen, a patio or yard area, communal space, and games like pool, foosball, and darts. The kitchen can be useful for cooking, though access and upkeep may be inconsistent, and social energy seems pretty limited for a hostel with those common areas. Expect an old, rough-around-the-edges building rather than a lively backpacker den. Rooms are often small, basic, and noisy, especially near the road or hallway doors. Staff can be kind and helpful, but check-in, parking passes, deposits, and house rules may feel clunky. This is not the place to book for spotless bathrooms, fresh bedding, strong sleep odds, or a cozy hostel scene. It is better treated as a practical crash pad in a good Kelowna location, with real tradeoffs around cleanliness, maintenance, noise, and extra charges.
