El Josemari Hostel

I got bitten by bedbugs and didn’t expect to have to make the bed. I collapsed on it and realized in the middle of the night that the whole set of sheets was missing

I stayed at Josemari for 3 nights and each day I woke with terrible bug bites. The pattern looks like bed bugs, the bumps are in sort of a path along different parts of my body (neck, arms, thigh) and there’s ~40 total. I talked to staff on different days and they were very dismissive, told me they don’t have a bug problem and offering to change the sheets or wipe down the bunk. They told me no other female forms were open and did not give a refund. I emailed as well but didn’t receive a reply.

Pretty nice rooms, each bed/bunk resembles a capsule hotel with a built-in locking cabinet for your items, a mirror, USB plugs and 2 lighting options in each bed. Sliding curtain was also good for privacy. Bathrooms were clean with hair dryers provided. Unfortunately my overall good experience was tainted upon discovering bed bug bites once I left :( Though clean bedsheets were provided, it seems like the mattress itself might have been infested. To the hostel owner, please check room 102 bed 6 for bed bugs!

I stayed at El Josemari Youth Hostel for four nights, and unfortunately, the overall experience left much to be desired. To begin with, I noticed red rashes on my neck on the first night, which I initially disregarded. By the third night, the rashes had worsened significantly, leading me to suspect that bed bugs might have been the cause. I reported the issue to the front desk, I was offered an alternative bed at the last night. Adding to the disappointment, when I inquired about the complaint procedure, I was provided with an email address to express my concerns. However, despite sending an urgent complaint, I received no response. Additionally, when I requested a complaint form, I was told that an internal report had been filed attributing the issue to mosquitoes. This explanation contradicted my observations and experiences. It has now been two weeks, and I have yet to receive any response or the promised internal report despite leaving multiple emails. Overall, while the facilities of the youth hostel are decent, the lack of responsiveness and accountability in addressing guest concerns is concerning. I hope that necessary steps will be taken to rectify this situation and prevent other guests from encountering similar issues.

Bueno no se por donde empezar, realmente no recomiendo este hostal, rente una habitación mixta de 10 personas y al realizar el check in me envían a una habitación con 9 hombres, como es esto posible si es una habitación mixta y cuando bajo a recepción a hablar sobre esto me dicen que esta bien que yo rente una habitacion mixta, pero obviamente no se que criterio tendra este hostal para considerar mixta una habitacion con 9 hombres y una mujer lo que para mi esta super alejado de la realidad, adicionalmente cuando ingreso a la habitacion esta esta asquerosa e igualmente pido cambio de habitacion por que no voy a dormir en una habitación donde duermen puercos como personas, el recepcionista me dice que es culpa de los huéspedes, pero no me cabe en la cabeza que tu haciendo check in ellos te envíen a una habitación en esas condiciones y no verifiquen si la habitación esta limpia o no, de igual modo el primer recepcionista que me atendio argentino fue muy amable y me cambio de habitacion por esa noche y al dia siguiente me cambiaria nuevamente a la misma por que esa gente hacia check out al otro dia y que posterior a las 11 am podria ingresar a la otra habitacion, cuando me cambian de habitacion habia una mujer no se si drogada, borracha o en situacion de calle que se encontraba fumando no se que dentro de la habitacion, claramente se realizo el reclamo correspondiente y la mujer fue desalojada del hostal, al dia posterior habia otra persona en recepcion un español quien es una persona totalmente arrogante y desagradable no se como puede seguir trabajando ahi y realizando atención al publico, le explico todo lo acontecido y me comenzó a culpar a mi por todo me dijo que si quería una habitación con mujeres por que no rente una femenina, que no era problema de ellos que la habitación estuviera sucia que era culpa de los huéspedes siendo que le mostré lo asquerosa que se encontraba la habitación, no presento ninguna intención de ayudar o mejorar mi estancia en ese horrendo lugar, me dice que tenia que esperar con mis cosas afuera de la habitación hasta las 3 de la tarde para hacer check in nuevamente lo que considero descabellado, si yo ya había echo check in y que no era su culpa que yo me quisiera cambiar de habitación realmente esa persona no debería trabajar mas en ese lugar.. y esto no termina ahi resulta que la habitación donde me pusieron tenia chinches y ahora tengo todo el cuerpo picado, es indignante para uno como cliente vivir una experiencia tan desagradable realmente busquen otro hostel no se alojen en ese lugar o tendrán una mala experiencia en su estancia!

Insects ang bedbugs! Bed linen is changed every 3 days and floors are cleaned 24 hours. BUT the 'people pods' are never cleaned.

There were bed bugs :( Privacy was good with the cubbies.

Habitaciones muy pequeñas y diferentes a lo que salía en fotos, los baños estaban sucios y la calefacción no funcionaba bien. Nuestro cuarto tenia chinches y no nos quisieron ayudar ni cambiar de habitación, lo barato sale caro…
