Early breakfast is the useful trick here: Bamboo Paradise may serve breakfast before the normal hour or pack it to go when an early boat is looming. The food itself is one of the stronger parts of the place, with tasty breakfasts, decent choices, and small low-waste touches like washable pots instead of throwaway packaging. The location is the main reason to book it. The harbor is roughly a flat 5-10 minute walk, so it works best as a cheap Padang Bai stopover before Gili, Lombok, or Nusa Penida. Staff are often helpful with ferry info, drivers, late arrivals, luggage, and nearby warungs. White Sand Beach / Bias Tugel is also reachable on foot, though Padang Bai itself may feel thin after dark. Rooms are basic and uneven. Some are clean, large, and have balconies or terraces; others feel old, hot, damp, poorly sealed, or not much like the photos. The place has a homely, animal-heavy feel with cats and dogs around, which adds charm if that is your thing and becomes a problem fast if smells, barking, or animals entering rooms would wreck your night.
