The Host Bed & Meeting

Hallo Juan, hier schreibt Kathrin. Du hast mir und Anna versichert, dass wir das Geld zurück bekommen. Nun liest du meine Nachrichten nicht mehr und ignorierst mich. Während unseres Aufenthalts waren in mehreren Zimmern Bettwanzen, sodass wir gezwungen waren, umzuziehen. Selbst wenn nur in einzelnen Betten Bettwanzen sind, ist die Gefahr viel zu groß. Auch ist das Problem der Unterkunft bekannt. Ich habe auch Videos, auf denen man die Wanzen krabbeln sieht. Ich hoffe nun, dass wir auch endlich das Geld wie versprochen zurück bekommen. Kathrin

Unfortunately the reviews are not real! The hostel is not as nice as the pictures and the reviews show. The rooms are really humid and hot and one girl in my room had bed bugs. The showers and bathrooms stank like hell and were disgusting. There was also no hot water. The air quality in the hostel is horrible and it smells like mold. The fridges are full of food gone bad and the kitchen is dirty. There is an open jar of mayo on the counter which is almost alive. Breakfast is between 8:30 and 9:30 and not enough for the guests. They serve coffee and milk, like 4 apples or moldy oranges and toast, butter and jam. Nothing is getting refilled once it’s empty. My mattress had a hole and felt like it was falling apart. I booked a female dorm but the room I stayed in was a mixed one. It’s not cheap enough for the quality unfortunately!

Bedbugs!!

We got bed bugs from this hostel, absolutely would not recommend. The host tried to tell us in their response they were ants- big difference, were not idiots!! Stayed in a private room. AC did not work, we know how to work AC, they just try and tell you that you used it incorrectly… hilarious really. Staff at the reception were so rude. The man who appeared to be the owner was lovely and the gentleman who cleaned the rooms was lovely but otherwise they were not nice. Quite a walk to the main area too

We have stayed at this room for one night. The hostel seemed okay, especially the outside area was nice. But during the night I felt bugs crawling over me and I found bedbugs in the bed. I was also covered in itchy bites. During the conversation with the hostel employee, we were really upset, but the employee was trying to convince us that all the bugs in there were dead and he was showing me that he was spraying the rooms everyday with an anti bug spray. While I believe that, that is not enough to get rid of bedbugs. I hope the owner of the hostel handles this matter properly and contacts an exterminator. The next day I sent a picture of the bites, to demonstrate the severity of the bites, but the employee never reacted to them. We requested a refund and we are glad we did. Since we had to cancel our booking on booking, we could not make an honest review there.

Bedbugs, dirty pool, dirty bathrooms, difficult communication, no card payment

There were bedbugs and blood on the wall of my bed. I didn't have a good sleep at all. It was so hot and stuffy with no fans or air con. Then in the morning ubers did not exist and the girl that was working didn't care about my issue at all. Luckily another guest helped me.

I got bitten by bed bugs in my hostel. It was awful. The bed bugs bit other people who were in the room as well.

Don’t go here, my bed had bedbugs…

There were bed bugs so we both got eaten alive. The mattress was old and stained and there was no bin in the room. The pool looked clean but all the old paint was flaking off. There were ants all over the kitchen and the cooking equipment was terrible. Breakfast was only served from 8:30 to 9:30 and was terrible coffee and yucky fruit.

My room had bed bugs. After waking up with many bites I checked the mattress and found a few. No one else seemed to be suffering this so hopefully isolated to my private room and has been dealt with as I let the team know. Otherwise it was inconvenient for me that they only take PayPal or cash, this isn't common so although communicated, it's still inconvenient if you don't have PayPal or cash

Tengo que decirlo, la primera noche que llegué había chinches en mi cama :( fue horrible. A otras dos personas y a mi nos fue re mal. Al otro día lo reportamos y los chicos nos apoyaron con el cambio de habitación, a mi incluso me invitaron la cena, Adorables ellos! Pero sí creo que el dueño del hostel debería poner mas cuidado en eso. Pasa que el concepto de que el hostel sea "rústico" está muy interesante, pero hay que cuidar que la calidad de los materiales reciclados que se ocupan (llantas de carro, tablas, botellas etc) estén limpios y en buen estado para evitar problemas como el que nos ocurrió. La ciudad está enmedio de la selva, debería ponerse suma atención en mantener sanitizadas las instalaciones contra este o cualquier otro tipo de fauna nociva. Lamento no poder dar una calificación que refleje la gran atención del staff, pero lo hago con el afán de que esto pueda mejorar y no afecte a más viajeros en el futuro
