Lodge Dinorwig

An old schoolhouse in the Dinorwig hills gives Lodge Dinorwig its whole personality: cosy, well kept, and full of little local-history touches from the slate quarry country around it. The big lounge and dining area has books, board games, maps, walk guides, tea and coffee, a microwave, and space to plan the next hike without feeling boxed in. Food is a real part of the stay here. Breakfast is included and lands well, with cooked options, good coffee, local sausages, and vegetarian, vegan, lactose-free, and gluten-free options possible. Dinner can be worth booking too, especially because nearby restaurant options are limited; homemade meals, packed lunches, curry, burgers, and chocolate peanut butter flapjacks all fit the Dinorwig rhythm. The built-in bunks are a proper strength: comfortable, private, solid, with curtains, charging points, reading lights, shelves, clean linen, and large lockers nearby. Bathrooms and showers are generally very clean and warm, with drying space and a dehumidifier setup that makes sense after wet mountain days. This is mainly a hiker, runner, climber, Snowdonia base-camp kind of place, with mountain and lake views, quiet countryside, parking, and local route help.
