Confirmed Google Maps
It is a disaster.I flew to London for holidays. But there are bed bugs in the hostel,I have been bitten by bed bugs, and there are there lumps on my body, very very itch and painful. Anyway, there are friendly staffs and perfect locations in the hostel. But it is terrible memory in my traveling history.

Trotzdem etwas teuer.

Vibe Analysis
Astor Oxford Street is a central London crash pad where the location does most of the heavy lifting. It works best if you want Soho/Oxford Street access, nearby transport, and a bed while you spend most of the day out in the city. The staff can be friendly and helpful, and there is a kitchen/dining area, but this does not read like a strong social hostel. The common setup is basic, and the building can feel cramped: small rooms, narrow bathrooms, stairs above the partial lift, and limited water access on sleeping floors all make the stay more functional than fun. The biggest practical issue is heat and ventilation. Some rooms can get brutally warm, especially in summer, and noise from the street or inside the building can make sleep rough. Treat it as a location-first budget base, not a place to chase hostel magic.
Signals to check
- Some rooms can be extremely hot in summer, with no air conditioning and limited window ventilation.
- The atmosphere can be flat, and upper floors may mean a lot of stairs because the lift only reaches part of the building.
- Noise can be a problem at night or early in the morning.
