Tiger Leaping Gorge logistics are the obvious superpower here. Flora and the team can help sort buses, route questions, luggage storage, and the small practical chaos around getting to the gorge; this is one of the clearest reasons Tom's Home works as a Lijiang base. The hostel has a backpacker-guesthouse feel: cozy rooms, oddball decor, courtyards, outdoor sitting spots, a sunny terrace or rooftop area, and a very cute dog orbiting the place. It tends to be quiet enough for downtime while still making it easy to meet hikers, swap plans, cook, drink tea, or hang out after a day in town. Beds are often comfortable, with electric blankets for cold nights, hot showers, and in some dorms curtains and easier top-bunk access. A kitchen and laundry may be available, usually with small fees, and breakfast or simple home-cooked food may be possible.
