Vibe Analysis
Hostel Caleta Union is a warm, very clean base in Puerto Williams, built for resting after trekking rather than partying hard. The common areas are cozy, nicely decorated, and well heated, with sofas, tables, a balcony, and a strong view over the water. The late-night ferry setup is a real practical win: Sandra, Eric, or the team may pick arrivals up from the port even around midnight or later. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking, tea and coffee are available, Wi-Fi can be fast, and there are multiple shared bathrooms, including a women-only bathroom. The house style is tidy and rule-forward. Shoes come off at the entrance, bilingual instructions are visible, and the place stays clean partly because the rules are taken seriously. That can feel calm and organized if you want structure; it can feel strict if you want a loose backpacker setup.
