Hostel Cosmos Amsterdam

Honestly the worst place I have ever stayed in my life. It might have bed bugs but I was too afraid to figure out so I slept on the floor. The other room our group booked had 100 flies flying around when we arrived. Terrible location, 45 minute walk minimum to the city, the only close thing is the Van Gogh Museum. Would never stay here again and wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy, extremely dirty.

I could write a detailed review of the horrific stay but I that the fact my whole body is covered with bites from bed bugs pretty much sums up the experience. I sincerely suggest that you don't stay at this hostel and just pay more money, get a better and a more humane accommodation.

A bed bug infested hole. Save your money and sleep in the park.

I won't lie, I was a bit worried having read some reviews about bedbugs and seeing a sign saying the hostel wouldn't be liable for any bites. But thankfully we didn't experience anything like that! We had such a lovely stay. The room wasn't the cleanest it could've been, but it was satisfactory for what we needed - a bed to sleep in! We stayed in a private room, so had easy access to a shower & toilet - both worked great. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. I would stay again ::))

Not a bad hostel, just not the best for the price we paid. My friend got bitten by bedbugs all over. Very little privacy in rooms, beds were very close together. Not a sociable atmosphere. Location was quite far from the centre - a 40 minute walk or 25 minute tram, but close to other parts of Amsterdam such as Vondelpark and Rijksmuseum. There was no common area, the kitchen was just in the reception. Facilities and services could have been better. Overall not bad but would not stay again.

DO NOT STAY HERE! BEDBUGS! Have contacted the hotel via numerous calls and e-mails asking for a refund, but have not been in contact with them. Terrible customer service!

Furchtbares Hostel mit stickigen Zimmern, viel zu wenig Duschen und Bettwanzen in den Betten!! Die Lage ist eine Bettwanzenplage definitiv nicht wert!

Stickige Räume, Bettwanzen (!!!!!!) und nur drei Bäder für mehr als 30 Personen! Kann ich keinem empfehlen

Over 10 dudes in a room that had to share one outlet. Smelled like body odor, urine and cat dander. One small bathroom that services a floor of ~20+ people. I was also was bit by a bedbug here. They have a sign that warns you that they are not liable for bug bites; probably should've taken that as a red flag.

AUBERGE À ÉVITER !!! Punaise de lit , nous nous sommes fait piquer mes amis et moi. Nous avons dû traiter en rentrant chez nous. 1 salle de bain pour 20 personnes. Les lieux sont vraiment sales. Les chambres sont petites et les escaliers de l’auberge sont hyper étroites et difficiles à monter surtout avec des valises. PLUS JAMAIS CETTE AUBERGE, HORRIBLE Je vous déconseille fortement:(

The place is INFESTED with bedbugs. I even cached one on my pillow just after biting me.

They have bedbugs!!! And they won't refund your money. I have photos to prove it! Don't come here!

Bed bug is in this hostel. I was stay in here about 3days. It was bite me about 10times.

Very bad experience, Very less space between each bed that not even a person can stand. Lower bed of each bunk bed is very uncomfortable as one cannot sit properly on it, Poor ventillation in the rooms and not proper air circulation. Only one bathroom and toilet for a complete floor ( about 24 people). There is no common space or kitchen, not even microwave. Its too expensive for such an accommodation and you have to pay for each and every other additional service , like for locker in room, luggage storage after checkout, towels etc. Everything has to be paid only by cash Inspite of this the bed bugs will not allow you to sleep whole night, Only good thing is that the receptionists will talk to you very friendly and welcoming

Beds are uncomfortable and squeezed in very close together, plus I'm reasonably sure they don't wash their linens in between guests! They were certainly yellow enough. Definitely bed bugs in the beds, I saw one crawling up the wall and I have bites all over my back... and there's even a sign in the hostel saying they're not responsible for bug bites! Only three single bathrooms for the entire three-floor hostel. Do not stay here.

A FUIR !!! DO NOT GO TO COSMOS HOSTEL ; saleté, puces de lit, malhonnête ; dirty, bed bugs, dishonest people. Centaines de morsures sur mon corps, pas de remboursement, j'ai du payer un autre hotel pour les autres nuit. Hundreds of bites on my face and body, no reimbursment, I had to pay for another hotel for the other nights.

They have bed bugs, they charge you for using The locker, The hostel smells,water in the shower is very hot, I don't recomend to stay in this place, The reception staff were very nice tho, but The place is not good

We stayed for the weekend (Friday and Saturday night) and were very disappointed with our stay. The rooms and the bathroom looked clean but we had bed bugs in the beds. After having talked to the reception, they didn't bother and didn't take any action against it. On Sunday we wanted to leave our luggage because we were departing in the evening, and they will only keep your luggage for 6 hours and for 3€. A real shame when you know that most Hostels do this service for free and for 24hours. The price was also quite expensive for the service. I would not recommend this Hostel.

The worst hostel ever!!! They don't even deserve 1 star!! Terrible service and they have bed bugs!!!

Overall the hostel is bad! The reception area smells really bad and the cat is disgusting. The shower is horrible, too cold or too hot. The Indian guy and the skin head in the reception are both idiots without hospitality skills. The photos that you can find online are certainly from another place, our room is dreadful and stinks. My friend Matilde found bedbugs in her bed. I do not recommend at all. Stay away from this hostel.
