I booked a Deluxe double room but shockingly found HUGE BED BUGS in the middle of the night, woke up with painful bites all over my body and my husbands body as well making it impossible to sleep. They changed our room at 3am and told us we will be fully refunded. We planned a 2 night stay and had to leave after the first night, and got the refund only for 1 night which felt unfair. On top of all this, one of their guys suggested that the bugs might have come with us. We preferred not to create a scene and just left as we were so tired from the horrible night we had. Safe to say it was very disappointing.

Vibe Analysis
The Hosteller Rishikesh, Ganges has the bones of a strong Rishikesh base: big rooftop/common spaces, Ganga-facing views from the right spots, cafe seating, table tennis/games, comfortable beds in better rooms, and a location near Laxman Jhula/river-side cafes and ghats. At its best it feels clean, modern, and easy for solo travelers or groups who want a view, a dorm, and a calm landing pad after the city buzz. The social side is mixed. Games, karaoke, nice people, and friendly staff can happen, but the building can also feel huge, anonymous, too work-like, or limited to repetitive activities. It is better framed as a large chain hostel with good views than a scrappy backpacker den. Access is the practical trap. Depending on bridge/ferry/vehicle conditions, getting there with bags or at night can be awkward, and parking is limited or unclear. Add the recurring staff/check-in app friction, smoking/noise in dorms, and occasional bathroom/AC/wifi issues before treating it as a sure thing.
