Davos Youth Hostel
Vibe Analysis
Davos Youth Hostel sits above town, with big mountain and Davos views from front-side rooms, balconies, the dining area, and the Hohe Promenade nearby. The uphill perch is part of the deal: scenic, quiet, and good for a budget ski base, but not the easiest arrival with luggage. The hostel is clean, simple, and fairly well equipped, with lounges, a luggage room, a ski cellar, outdoor space, and a dedicated kids' room. Breakfast is a regular strength, and dinner can be useful after skiing when nobody wants to solve food logistics. Staff are usually friendly and helpful, with late-arrival setup and room-change help handled smoothly in a few cases. Rooms are basic rather than plush. Some private rooms have balconies and strong views, while dorms and bunk rooms can feel tight, with small beds and limited power points. It can be quiet at night, though ski-season noise is possible when people return late.
Signals to check
- There is no self-catering kitchen; cooking options may be limited to a microwave.
- The hostel is uphill from town and transport stops, so luggage or ski gear can make the walk annoying.
- Parking, coffee, hot water, sheets, towels, or shuttle use may add costs depending on the setup.
- Reception hours can be limited, which can make hairdryers or other desk-only items harder to access.
- Rooms and bunk beds can feel tight, and bathroom locks or hot water may not always be ideal.
