Railway Sleeper Hostel is built into an old station house, with the train right outside and the beach a short walk away. It suits Castlerock trips where the plan is simple: arrive by rail, cook in, wander to cafes or the pub, and use the village as a base for the north coast. The hostel feels new, clean, and practical. Beds are comfy, with wooden bunks, plugs, and privacy curtains in at least some dorms. Bathrooms are spacious with hot, strong showers, and the kitchen is a real strength, with a fridge, freezer, oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, and enough gear for self-catering. The kitchen table, snug, books, local photos, bean bags, and even a guitar give it more personality than a plain stopover. It can have a friendly, easygoing feel, especially when the place is not too empty, but outside busy periods it may be almost silent and self-check-in focused. This is more polished basecamp than party hostel: clean rooms, useful communal space, beach access, train convenience, and nearby north coast trips like Mussenden Temple, Giant's Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Downhill Forest, and Dark Hedges.
