HI Gerês – Pousada de Juventude

We were aware of a bed bug risk after our booking, therefore we informed the hostel that we would not come. No refund was possible, not even for the breakfast.

Worst experience ever! Watch out for bed bugs!!

Minha esposa foi atacada por insetos, aparentemente percevejos, durante a estadia. Depois da noite de sono ela ficou toda picada e com marcas de infecção, típicas de mordidas de percevejos. A acomodação possui boas instalações no geral, funcionários atenciosos, mas essa situação comprometeu muito a experiência, não voltaria neste local.

Sadly we had a bed bug infestation in our twin room, the staff didn't seem surprised so I assume it's a usual thing and they handled it horribly!!! When we found out about it around 2am they transferred us to a different room and refused to refund us claiming they already solved the problem, completely disregarding the fact we had to stay awake till 4am to check the room, ourselves and our belongings. They offered no help regarding our clothes so we had to quarantine half of them.. and only after we decided to stay for another night because there were no alternatives, did we manage to "persuade" them to give us the 2nd night for free. to top it off they made us pay for the forced 'upgraded' room we got on the first night or move to a different, possibly bed-bug-infested room. The absolute worst service I got! I do not recommend this place!!!!!

Our room and bed was full of bed bugs. I only saw this at 2 am. When I did I immediately contacted the receptionist who was not surprised and moved us to another room after a thorough scan of the new room and bed we had to check our selves and all our belongings to make sure that we were clean of bugs till Finally got to bed it was almost dawn. The next day I spoke to the day receptionist who at first tried to avoid responsibility by saying other people brought the bugs to the hotel room and there's nothing she can do since anyways the hotel is a chain. When I asked to speak to the manager she wouldn't let me speak to anyone and she insisted that the only thing I can do now is complain to booking. And she wouldn't even refund me for the night of horrors

A estadia foi muito negativa. O quarto estava infestado de percevejos, o que tornou impossível permanecer no local. Fizemos check in às 23h30, a 00h20 estávamos a sair do quarto. A pousada não tinha alternativa de alojamento disponível e o atendimento não foi adequado perante a gravidade da situação.

There were bedbugs in the room we booked! The toilet was also not cleaned! We have asked them to change room and they offered us two beds on bunk beds on a separate building with shared bathrooms. We had to pick all our stuff and move from room to the other around midnight. We were very disapointed with everything and we have asked for a refund. The cleaning has to be improved a lot!

Encontramos percevejo em cima da cama.

Percevejos!!! Não sei se dei azar com o meu quarto ou o que aconteceu (pois há muitos comentários positivos sobre o local), mas durante a madrugada eu e minha companheira acordamos sentindo algo pelas camas (quarto de duas camas de solteiro) e quando ligamos as luzes ambas estavam LOTADAS e percevejos, aquilo foi um pesadelo, não conseguimos mais dormir durante a madrugada, as picadas pelo corpo são incontáveis, extremamente chateado e decepcionado com essa experiência, não imaginava que seria assim.
