An honest review. The good: Good location , facilities are good. The bad: it is over priced for a hostel prices . The worst seemslike my bed had bedbugs I ended up with skin Rashes on my back. extra: it was cold and they turn on the A/C every night doesn't make sense.

Vibe Analysis
Mayan Monkey Los Cabos sits by the Cabo Marina, with boats, water taxis, bars, restaurants, and the downtown club zone within walking distance for nights out or quick plans on the water. It has a pool, outdoor bar, shared kitchen, breakfast, AC, and activity programming that can include yoga. This is not a quiet crash pad. The building is tied into a loud bar-and-party setup, with music around the pool and nearby bars carrying into rooms, sometimes late. It can feel more like a club with beds than a mellow hostel, which works better for travelers chasing Cabo nightlife than anyone trying to sleep early or decompress. Rooms can be clean and comfortable, and the pool area gives the place its main hangout shape. The social energy is inconsistent though: activities exist, but the common areas can feel flat, and solo travelers may not always find an easy meet-people flow. Service and upkeep are uneven. Staff can be friendly at the bar or reception, but there are also recurring problems around weak WiFi, expensive food and drinks, cold AC, thin walls, dirty shared bathrooms, unclear charges, and weak follow-through when something goes wrong.
Signals to check
- Noise is a serious risk, especially from music, bars, thin walls, and late-night room disruption.
- Security concerns include stolen cash, stolen food from shared fridges, and weak support after incidents.
- There is no reliable parking setup, and paid parking nearby can be expensive or inconvenient.
- WiFi may be poor or missing in rooms.
- Food and drinks can feel overpriced, and the kitchen setup is limited.
