Hotel Universal

I woke up at 4:30am with a big noise from the street, sounds like Turkish people at the Shawarma downstairs did a party, I believe it is common, though I stayed only one night. In addition to that my back was painful due to a very soft mattress. I went immediately to the reception to ask to do something about the mattress. The single staff person seems like didn’t care about my problem, and from the fact that I almost didn’t sleep because of the mattress, only after few minutes that I had to ask him again about that, because it didn’t seem that he is going to do anything to help me. He reluctantly gave me a key to another room. But while I was in the lobby I noticed a group of girls having troubles as well, and discovered that they had in their room bed bugs. They had to clean and wash all their staff. After I had my own problems which didn’t seem to be solved, and with the known risk of encountering bed bugs in other rooms, I decided to move out and look for another place to stay. After I came back to check-out, after only the first night, out of four, and explaining the reason of leaving, the staff didn’t feel any need to apologize for the bad experience that I had. They even seemed to be quite happy for the opportunity to sell the bed second time, and they didn’t think about refunding me for the terrible stay, that terminated way earlier. The shared bathroom doesn’t have soap for toilet/shower. Overall, very bad experience, not recommended at all.

Es gab Schimmel und super viele Bettwanzen im Zimmer. Ich kann das Hostel daher leider nicht empfehlen.

Não gostei do colchão, fiquei três noite lá, na primeira noite eu fiquei todo picado de percevejo 🪲, gastei 30 euros 💶 com remédio para coceira, na segunda noite eu pedir pra mudar de cama e a mulher falou que eu tenho que falar com o responsável, sabendo que o hostel só tem funcionário, posso falar que essa vez foi decepcionante minha estadia, eu estou até agora com coceira, entrei dia 19/12 e sair dia 23/12, por favor mude o colchão e jogue veneno no quarto 512 cama 12. Meu WhatsApp para mais detalhes +351936406705 eu paguei quase 80 € para ter um prejuízo no meu corpo.

Edifício muito antigo com buracos nas escadas de acesso e chovia na mesma. Dos percevejos. Fui mordida e consegui inclusive matar e fotografar o bicho (bed bug). Logo na primeira noite, 2h após deitar-me (já cheguei tarde), acordei com um percevejo a morder-me. Perante a situação dirigi-me à recepção onde me mudaram para um quarto privativo (disseram que nesses ainda não tinham tido casos). No novo quarto fiz questão de tirar toda a roupa de cama e para meu espanto apenas usam uma proteção de colchão que deixa muito a desejar. Não admira que tenham percevejos. Os funcionários foram prestáveis e disponibilizaram-me os produtos que tinham (fui para a arrecadação com o funcionário fazer diluição de fedona e posteriormente apliquei-a eu nas minhas coisas e no quarto privativo para onde me mudaram, para garantir que não trazia comigo nenhum bicho). De notar que por mais prestável que o funcionário tenha sido, este produto devia ser aplicado com regularidade por uma equipa de controlo de pragas e não por mim. De qualquer forma sou grata por ter tido o produto disponibilizado. Fiquei bastante incomodada quando duas noites depois ao fazer o check-out a funcionária me disse que não havia registo do ocorrido, pelo que as raparigas da camarata onde estava o bicho nem foram informadas, ou seja, podem ter transportado essa praga consigo para outros locais. Isso é mesmo muito mau. Acredito que nada seja feito e que o quarto vai continuar a receber hospedes como se nada se passasse. Aliás fui agora confirmar e está disponível para reservas. Acaba por ser uma questão de saúde pública, um hostel receber pessoas num quarto com percevejos é mesmo muitooo mau.

Maybe it is bed bugs…I’m itching after my staying and, I tried to check the bed carefully because I had another bad experience in a hostel in Porto with bed bugs…And now I feel the same as this other time.

Seifenspender war immer leer und ein Zimmer hatte Bettwanzen, von dem die Bewohner rüber wandern mussten.

but watch out for bedbugs my boi. I think ALL hostel bed mattresses should have a cover (plastic, cotton, anything)

Not enough bathrooms per floor. BED BUGS-- the hostel moved someone who reported bed bugs in their 8 bed dorm, then they allowed me to check into said dorm (I was unaware of the bed bugs in the room), and I ended up with bed bugs 2 nights later. The hostel asked me to send photos through to management but I never heard anything back from them.

2 douches moesten met een aantal mensen gedeeld worden. Ik heb nooit moeten wachten, maar was niet zo proper. Steeds haar, papier of andere zaken in de douche, lavabo en badkamer. Er werd 3 keer / dag gekuist, maar door het aantal personen dat de badkamer moesten delen merkte je niet dat er 3 keer / dag gekuist werd. Ook hadden 2 personen in een kamer last van bedwantsen. Zij werden naar een andere kamer gebracht, maar er werd niet gecommuniceerd naar de andere personen in de kamer en de bedden en lakens werd niet gereinigd. Na een nacht werden de laken weggedaan, maar de matrassen lagen er nog. Met als gevolg dat nog 3 extra mensen bedwantsen hadden. In de avond kwam E. haar kamer binnen gewandeld en zag dat ze de enigste overblijvende was en ook zij had bedwantsen. Jammer dat dat niet onmiddellijk wordt aangepakt en gecommuniceerd naar de andere personen dat in dezelfde kamer liggen.

I found bed bugs in my room. Disgusting.
