Masaya Tayrona & Beach Club has the raw ingredients of a gorgeous coastal stay: beach, pool, bar, design-forward common areas, food and drinks, and staff moments that can be genuinely warm. At its best, it feels like a beach-club hostel for people who want Tayrona-adjacent scenery without giving up a big pool and polished shared spaces. The recent tradeoffs are heavy. Several stays say the common areas outshine the rooms by a lot: cramped pods, dirty or moldy bathrooms, stained sheets/towels, weak breakfast value, expensive food or payment friction, and a social vibe that can be more loud DJ set than community. There are also serious recent complaints about belongings and staff handling of problems.
