Full reviewThe location is great, near the main square and not much time through alleyways to get there. It was 40° and the AC unit in the room worked but the door to the room didn’t even close (or lock) so all the hot air came back in. There’s also no lock on the front door to the hostel, so really didn’t feel safe. The staff were good, but didn’t seem to know much about activities/tours advertised. Needs a deep clean and hand soaps in the bathrooms. Overpriced airport shuttle, the bus is 4dirhams.

Full reviewthey tried to get me to pay “tax” as it wasn’t included in the price of the confirmation email from hostel world but it was. The tax is €4 and I paid €11 deposit but they were telling me to pay the whole amount as if I never paid a deposit. After a long discussion, I only paid the amount left in the confirmation email. The door to the dorm barely even closes and no locks. I was also placed into a 14 bed dorm when I booked a 12 bed. One shower flooded with water and there was only one “good” one

Full reviewPretty basic hostel but wasn't expecting much for the price. Pros: clean free daily towels, great location, free breakfast, hot showers. Cons: booked 6 bed but was put in 8 bed dorm, 0 atmosphere, disorganised, not enough toilets, squeaky beds and some inconsiderate guests (but that may have been time of year), no locks on dorm rooms

Full review800 dirham was stolen from me by staff (Mohamed). I had it between the pages in my passport. When he gave my passport back it was gone and I didnt have cash to pay for the my stay. I had to go withdraw more. When confronted, he denied it and said I must’ve lost it. He told me to hurry up because more people were checking in after me. This incident happened between 19:30-21:00 25.11.2025. I hope the owner takes a look at the surveillance cameras. A poor way to do business.

Full reviewThe hostel was not safe. A random man walked into our female group’s room at 3:30am and tried to pull my blanket off of me from the top bunk. The second night, my bed was covered in dirt and mold and I woke up equally as dirty. There were not any lockers to store your personal items in and the bed and blankets smelled of body odor. I did not feel safe or clean during my stay here.

Full reviewRiad Dia Marrakech – Unsafe Environment for Female Travellers My experience at Riad Dia Marrakech was extremely disappointing and concerning, especially regarding guest safety and staff behaviour. When I first arrived, I was placed in a 9-bed dorm even though I’d booked a 6-bed. The mattress was broken and uncomfortable, and there was only one toilet and shower shared between 11 people. I stayed for three nights simply because it was already paid for and I was travelling on a budget. However, the real issue — and the reason I’m writing this review — is the inappropriate and unprofessional behaviour from one of the staff members, Mustapha. During my stay, I met a solo female traveller who was made to feel extremely uncomfortable by him. He behaved in a creepy and intrusive manner during her stay, and after she left the hostel, he found her on social media and began sending her inappropriate messages, including “you must come back to see me, I know you find me attractive.” These messages continued until she had to block him. This behaviour is completely unacceptable and shows a serious lack of professionalism and respect for guests, particularly women travelling alone. Hostels are meant to be social, friendly, and safe spaces — but this one is clearly not. For that reason, I would strongly advise female travellers to avoid staying at Riad Dia Marrakech. The facilities are poor, and the conduct of certain staff members makes it an unsafe and uncomfortable environment.

Full reviewWhen I arrived, I was asked to pay cash upfront, which is fine. But, after I had already paid, they informed me that my room was not available. I had to stay at another hostel some walk away, that was not as nice. I had already paid my money before I was informed of this change, and was not allowed to see the room until I had paid. Very shady, very scammy.

Full reviewHostel is not safe. We got into a dispute about the length of our stay and the staff locked us (two women) inside the hostel. We got the door open and they were physically pushing us, blocking the door, shouting, and refusing to let us leave. One of the scariest experiences I've had while traveling. Luckily another guest intervened and we were able to get away. THIS HOSTEL IS NOT SAFE

Full reviewTLDR; this hostel is unsafe for women, the hostel manager locked us in doors and pushed us. We (two women) booked two beds a month in advance at Hostel Riad Dia, and then two weeks later sent a request to change the reservation two nights instead of three and received a message from the management that they understood and would change the reservation. When we arrived on the day of, the hostel manager demanded we pay the three days instead of two because he had not received a message from his boss to change the reservation. We had asked to call his boss, and instead he locked the doors with a key and demanded we pay the full amount on the spot. We managed to open a different door but the then he blocked it with his body and physically pushed us back. After a struggle where he was yelling and assaulting us, we managed to push past him and we ran out. The experience was very scary and completely out of line. This is an unsafe hostel for women so long as he works there.

Full reviewDANGER: I was chilling on the roof terrace when I heard shouting and commotion downstairs, I went down quickly to find the two workers of the hostel assaulting two american girls and trying to pull them back into the hostel and assaulting them. they were trying to get away, I shouted at them to stop and asked what was going on, the moroccan men started talking some crap about how the girls wanted to change the length of the stay and that they were scammers, with my presence the girls got away, I went straight to my dorm to pack my bags and start to leave, As I tried to leave they had locked the front door on me with a key, I rounded on them and shouted at them, they still refused to open the door, at which point I was ready to drop my bags and beat them up, they started showing me their phones saying what great reviews they have and that this not normal, I didn't care at all, eventually they unlocked the door for me and finally let me leave, I had to book another hostel nearby, They very quickly cancelled my trip on hostelworld so that I could not leave a review to warn others, I DO NOT recommend staying here they are extremely unprofessional and dangerous to women, Do not trust these people, they are fake scammers and will do anything to stop people leaving bad reviews. terrible business

Full reviewTHIS HOSTEL IS NOT SAFE. We (two women) had a disagreement with the check-in staff over the length of the stay/price and decided to stay elsewhere. The two male front desk staff locked us in the building and wouldn't let us leave, and then were physically pushing us and shouting at us. Another guest intervened and we were able to get away but this hostel is not safe. We have read reviews on Google saying they won't let some guests check out without leaving a good review. Full reviewAlthough the location and staff are great, the facilities are lacking. The shower doors don’t close and the beds are old and wobbly. Be careful with your possessions as well, my friend’s charger (along with several other items) went missing and we had to ask staff multiple times for them after they had apparently been moved from her bed. Overall, it’s an okay place to sleep and the free breakfast is nice as well.

Full reviewi gave a low rating because this property and another owned by the same company (riad marrakech rouge) had workers who made me and other solo female travelers uncomfortable. There were instances of unwanted flirting and harrasment. i moved to the other hostel to get away from one such worker at this hostel.

Full reviewNIGHTMARE!!!!! They intimidate people to leave positive reviews! Riad Día had us pay for our stay then told us they didn’t have a room for us before leading us pretty far from the center with a random man to another room —which they ended up not having. One thing after another this experience was HORRIBLE. We ended up staying in Riad Dias dorm room bc it felt like our only option. To top it off they “cancelled” our trip on the booking site to avoid a bad review. Oh also there’s no soap in the bathrooms - the shower towels had pieces food or something on them, 100000000% they don’t clean the sheets between guests (saw this), and it’s all just nasty. So many riads in the area - don’t do this one.

Full reviewNice location, nice rooftop but the staff/boss wanted to scam me badly! This is not good at all, be real with you customers! I liked the hostel, breakfast was good but the scam is already too much outside of the hostel so in the hostel it would be nice to be treated well :) Just a reminder

Full reviewDON'T BOOK HERE! The staff was extremely rude, tried to scam us witj the price and put us into the wrong room. Also the rooms were disgusting, there were roaches in the rooms and sooo much hair and dirt. My sheets were ripped and dirty. The bathrooms were extremely dirty and there were not enough for all the people. I don't understand why this place has good reviews. I will never come back, it was an awful experience.

Full reviewIt was ok. I can see why people rate it highly as it seems super social. Pros: - great location centre to everything - staff seem pretty friendly - cheap! - comfy beds Cons: - didn’t feel safe, we had someone come into our room at 2:30am with a flash light waking us up - the air con and fan were so dirty and dusty the rooms were so so hot - it was dirty and showers didn’t work very well

Full reviewThe hostel was in a great location which was easy to find and get to from the main square of Marrakech, so I definitely felt safe walking to/from the hostel. The free breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly. However, one staff member did make inappropriate comments to me about wanting to 'spend time together in the evening' which, as a solo female traveller, definitely made me feel uncomfortable and was very unprofessional. Apart from that everything was great and very good value for money.

Full reviewThe staff was very in polite. I booked and paid for an 8-bedroom, but got a 10-bedroom, even after asking (the 8-bedroom was full apparently). The toilet was not clean and the whole toilet was loose and moving. After we left the reservation was cancelled, because they intended to make it unable to give a review.

Full reviewHORRIBLE hostel. I’ve never been to something so terrible. Immediately asked us for our money and not even our passports or ID. Location is terrifying, very long dark streets to go through and someone “showed us the way” and then asked for money and swore at us after we got to the hostel. The pictures are not even close to the same as the real thing. Much dirtier than expected and I felt very unsafe in the rooms. There were no locks or curtains and no storage

Full reviewThe worst hostel I've ever been in my life and I've been in more than 20 countries, my jacket and a sweater disappeared (the day before I saw the owner try it on) I had to turn on the light to charge my cell phone and in a room of 20 people is a lack of respect, dirty bathroom and no one spoke Italian or Spanish, a disaster.

Full reviewThis place is really really basic. The dorm was too cramped with too many beds and there was no door to the dorm so anyone could walk in there (it was also right next to reception). Few toilets, and small lockers. Staff member was a bit rude when I asked how long breakfast would be despite it already being 30 mins late and I had to go. Location is very good, but I don’t think value for money was very good and think this place is overrated (I’ve stayed at over 100 hostels for context!)

Full reviewHostel is right in the middle of the city near the main market square, but make sure to approach from there rather then from the main road as that route is winding and confusing. We stayed in November and the pool is kept empty during this period. Staff were unengaged, non-caring and needed to be pushed to confirm any information, also didn't let us pay by card but then didn't have change when paying by cash. Front door was left constantly open and rooms didn't lock. Showers were shocking (either boilin
