Bed bug reports

This hostel was neither clean nor safe. My bed had black dust, hairs, and what appeared to be bed bug bites. When I requested clean sheets, the owner demanded proof and responded rudely instead of showing basic hospitality. The bathrooms on every floor were dirty and poorly maintained. Guests receive constant messages with excessive rules that are rarely enforced. The building itself is run-down, customer service is unprofessional, and cleanliness is unacceptable. I experienced bed bug bites.

Upon arrival my friends and i were happy with the hostel. A room for four was perfect for us in a great location only 10 minute walk from the water. But it all went downhill from there. The host seemed pleasant in the beginning, with recomdations and an easy go attitude. Over our stay there was a 3 day power outage to the hostel. Leaving us with no power, hot water or internet. given we were on the fourth floor this was a major safety issue as we couldn’t climb the stairs, with one of us falling at one point. When we tried to seek help from the host she simply dismissed us and said there was nothing she could do. We placed no blame on her for the outage but were more so seeking some sort of solution as at this point in the middle of winter we were left to freeze. She became extremely rude and defiant against any of our requests leaving us feeling unwelcome and ultimently unsafe. Only once we had paid for our stay did she ask us to leave given our requests were causing her “hassels”. For €16 you’d expect a little more than just a bunk bed. As young travellers we choose hostels for the guidance of the hosts that there meant to provide, and this was honestly such a let down. Espesially over new years. We were also told by other guests that they were bitten by bed bugs on level 1 of the hostel. There is no dryer on the premises so take that as you will. I couldn’t recommend enough to look elsewhere on your next trip to Istanbul. We won’t be returning.

Eaten alive by bed bugs. Also avoid this place if you want a good night sleep.

A nice place to stay in what felt like a great area of Istanbul. Common areas were comfortable, and our room was clean and ready for us. Only issue we faced were what I think were a few bedbug bites on one night.
