Why this surfaced
Repeated, deduplicated traveler-review reports matched these incident categories:
- 6 reports
- 7 reports
One report can match more than one category. Counts describe review reports, not independently verified incidents.
These are reports in traveler reviews, not independently verified incidents. Duplicate review text and strong repeat-reviewer identities count once.
Category matches are automated. Relevant passages are exact review quotes selected from concrete incident wording, not hidden model rationales. If none appears, treat the match as suspect and check the full review.

Full reviewTerrible experience at Hostel Dream Belko. We arrived and had to wait in the lobby for an hour and a half for a receptionist to arrive. We had booked a female dorm and a male bed at HostelWorld a week prior - but they told us they overbooked themselves and would have to move us all to three separate locations. My female friend and I were separated into different rooms while my male friend was taken to a completely different hostel, which also had practically nobody working in it. My female friend was moved into someone else’s bed which was not cleaned and very obviously had had someone sleeping in it just before. They didn’t give us any kind of discount or compensation. One of our hostelmates told us that they had her sleep on the roof as they couldn’t provide her with the bed that she booked. I would bet that the positive reviews for this hostel are fake. I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

Full reviewDo not stay here. We got there at 1pm for the check in time and it took 2 hours for a worker to check us in. They are completely scamming and overbooking rooms. The three of us booked a private room for three people and were split up into 2 different female dorm rooms and one bed in a completely different building / hostel. They did not give us keys, there are no lockers and my bed was never cleaned from the last person staying in it. My hostel mates had told me they were forced to sleep on the roof the night before since the hostel was overbooked. Do not stay here. They never have any compensation or refund

Full reviewI wouldn’t stay in this hostel. The rooms are crowded with little to no space for any luggage. There was also no sheets provided on the beds, just the thick blankets which didn’t seem overly clean. We stayed in the room downstairs which had an open window straight into the reception area where the owner and family lived in meaning we had no privacy, we blocked this with a blanket. The doors also have no locks so you can’t leave any valuables in the rooms or feel secure at night. The hostel owner also had a toddler which kept coming in and out of our room, and no one did anything to stop this, again a lack of privacy. The family also stayed up late into the night, and whilst I understand this may be their home, it did not mean there was much peace and quiet for getting to sleep if staying on the ground floor. I also wouldn’t bother with breakfast here, I feel like you can find better options out in Marrakesh. On a plus the shower was good. As a female traveller in particular I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I only felt self due to staying here on a group tour with 20 of us, safety in numbers. If after reading this review, you are still prepared to stay here, pack light and bring a lock, earplugs, sleeping bag and an open mind.

Only one word: SCAM!

Full reviewOnly one word: SCAM! I advise to read well the reviews before booking. What you have to be careful about is that they will post rooms with high discounts so that you’ll book, but once arrived at the hostel they will try to negotiate with you the price (instead of making up for the mistake). On top of this, we accepted to pay a higher fare, and when we went to check the room we booked (with a private toilet) it didn’t even exist. Double scam. At that point we left! Worst experience of my life!

Full reviewSome French guy tried to steal my power bank on charge then went off at me saying it was unfair that I had a powerbank and a wall charger. I had to move rooms cause I felt so unsafe and was afraid he'd steal my phone in the middle of the night.

Full reviewIt depends what you’re looking for…I opted for a private room in a hostel because I wanted to meet people but also needed sleep! The bed was comfy and all reasonably clean but check in was stressful and nobody seemed to know what they were doing. Didn’t have a card machine but also had no change so subsequently overcharged me. Also falsely advertised as was not an en-suite. Location was okay but a bit of a warren so be careful if alone at night etc.

The hostel does not have anything that is published, no swimming pool, no sauna, no security lockers, no safe, no access key, no reading light, no microwave and the kitchen is not included, you have to pay to use it. Is a gotcha.

Staff were rude and did not want to help but looked to extort money from you any way they could.

Full reviewAwful, best way to describe this is a prisoner of war camp. Staff were rude and did not want to help but looked to extort money from you any way they could. Told people they have to sleep in reception and on the roof despite the fact there were beds free and breakfast was a bit of bread and a yoghurt pot. Down a back alley where people wait at night and try charging you to go that way. Would rather sleep on an ant hill in the desert than stay here again very arrogant and rude staff also.
