The attached dive school is the main reason to pick Isla Tortuga. Open Water, Advanced, discovery dives, fun dives, and refreshers are a big part of the setup, with a strong Spanish-speaking crew and courses available in Spanish or English. It works best as a Koh Tao base when diving is already on the agenda. The location is practical: close to the pier, near restaurants and shops, and around 15-25 minutes on foot from the busier Sairee/bar area. That makes early dive mornings and ferry logistics easy, while keeping the night scene at arm's length. The social side is more chill dive-family than party machine. Pizza nights, BBQs, burger nights, shared dinners, drinks, and the occasional beach clean-up give the place its pulse, especially for Spanish speakers. There is a pool, a bar/common area, free water refill, laundry may be available, and certain private rooms or balconies can feel roomy and relaxed. Rooms are basic and inconsistent.
