    You get a free beer if you leave a review. The girl in the reception is sassy. Otherwise relly nice I recommend. Nice location and rooms and atmosphere and rooftop and breakfast.

    First day checking in, can say the rooms feels nice, happy to be here, shower needs new grout, but other than that, great place. Bar on top has a free beer for reviews and the man behind the bars been a friendly help letting me charge my phone. Make sure you bring small bills for the bar, he didn't have change for a 500k.

    This hostel is okay but not great. My dorm was tiny, not enough space for everyone’s backpack, no window, beds were tiny. However, the location was central, the price was cheap and the breakfast buffet was delicious. I’d say it’s okay for a few nights but not for a longer stay. You get a free beer for five star reviews here, just to keep in mind…

    DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Please read past the fake 5 star reviews. They give you a free beer per 5 star review. The hostel is awful. When we first arrived our bathroom was leaking quite bad. We reported it. And their fix was to open the ceiling and put a piece of cardboard in the way so the water dripped into the sink instead of the floor and this was left for hours. Then they finally came and fixed it but took hours leaving us with no bathroom for the entire day. And the reception bathroom was under work as well. Then when we went to bed there was blood on one of our sheets, and when we went to report it they accused us, saying it was our blood. Which was outrageous. Then the morning of checkout, at 8am sharp there was construction work going on underneath us, very very loud drilling waking us all up. After saying all of this to reception there was no apology and only a 10% discount Please do your research.

    Amazing location in the centre of Hanoi with a great roof top bar and nice staff. Breakfast was an open buffet with a good selection of food, we also got a free dinner on NYE which was a great addition. The rooms however did not look anything like the pictures, there was no natural light with the lockers covering the windows and bunk beds all stacked together so very little room in a 6 bed dorm. We also witnessed one of the cleaners come into the room and change one person’s bed sheets who had vacated however the thick blanket that it’s used as the duvet was not cleaned or changed and just left there so the next person will be using the same bed cover. I also witnessed bugs on my bed which could have been bed bugs… You are offered a free drink or shot to give the hostel a good review which could be one of the contributing factors as to why the hostel has such good reviews. There are other, cleaner hostels to choose from in the area so if cleanliness of your bed is a big thing for you then I would look elsewhere.

    Do not stay here. There are bed bugs in the rooms and conditions are poor. Much better options out there. The reviews are a lie as they give you free drinks if you leave a good review. Go somewhere else.

    Booked a room on the night we got back from the Ha Giang loop, and when we arrived they said they double booked and we were left homeless at 3am. The reviews are so high because you get a free shot for a 5* review.

    Positive reviews for free drinks. Rooms are nasty, cramped and damp. They charge for towels and water. 5% for card payments. Saw rats downstairs, I wonder if they stay for free? Nice big gaps on the bathroom door sides and beds so people can see right in. Go somewhere else.

    Apparently the good reviews are because they give free beer. Don't expect reviews or photos. I stayed in a dormitory, but the sheets were very dirty and the mattress was hard. There were no towels or anything else in the lockers. There was a bar nearby, so there were a lot of drunk white people. It was cold, but the blankets were dirty. I was sleeping in the middle of the night when a drunk person opened the curtains of my bed, sat down and started screaming. Only I told them but the staff didn't seem interested. レビューがいいのはビールをプレゼントするかららしい。レビューや写真を期待しない方がいい。ドミトリーを利用したがシーツがとても汚くマットレスは固かった。ロッカーからタオルとかも無い状態。　バーが近いので酔っ払った白人がとても多い。　寒いけれど毛布が汚かった。　　　深夜寝てたら酔っ払った人が私のベッドのカーテンを開けて急に座り叫んでしまった。　朝食だけ良かった。

    DONT BE FOOLED by their 5 star ratings. They are bribing guests free drinks in exchange for 5 star ratings! Booked via Agoda and confirmed my booking with them. On the day of my Check-in, they said they would put me on a room in another building. This is a COMMON SCAM in Hanoi and be aware. Don't fall for their reasons. Insist on what you have booked. I insisted, lo and behold, they really do have a room in their building. They just want you to stay in another area so that they can sell it to other guests who will pay more.

    Terrible experience overall, do not trust or come to this place... 💀 Hygiene: dirty, dusty, moldy and very smelly. 🧍Staff: weird, cold and unhelpful, buys out peoples 5 star review for 1 free beer. 💧 Amenities: had a leaking ceiling in bathroom, took 24 hours to fix it, had to live with hot dripping water and soaking wet floor and smelly soaking unreplaced mat. ⏰ Comfort: woken up early in the morning by drilling an construction noise just underneath us but sounded like they were in our room. 💰 Services: Everything was overpriced (even the laundry), had to go to the hostel next door or laundry place down the street to sort out everything.

    AVOIDDDDD - We made a booking which should have been £38. When we arrived they told us to pay £68 or leave. Obviously there was nowhere else to go on the day so we had no choice. The Vietnamese staff member on the front desk & breakfast staff were some of the rudest people we have come across in our 4 months of travelling. It’s a shame because their volunteers were so lovely, and they are let down by the actual staff!! There were rodents in the room who chewed through the bedsheets. You have to pay for towels and water. They bribe people with free drinks for a good review SCAM. The owner refused to speak with us and cancelled our booking on hostelworld so that we couldn’t leave a bad review. Happens to lots of people here. Don’t be fooled.

    COCKROACHES!!! Avoid this place at all costs. We trusted the good Hostelworld ratings and were bitterly disappointed. As soon as we checked into the room, it smelled damp, musty, and disgusting. When we wanted to go to sleep in the evening, the real horror started: multiple cockroaches in the room. We immediately reported this to the reception, and the only thing they asked was whether anything else besides the cockroaches was wrong with the room?! Absolutely unacceptable. We did not sleep in the room at all, and the bathroom and shower were completely unused — yet we only received 50% of our money back. That is a complete rip-off. On top of that, it seems that reviews are being manipulated, as guests apparently receive free drinks in exchange for positive reviews. This explains the misleading ratings. Disgusting conditions, poor handling of complaints, and dishonest practices. Do not stay here.

    I think a lot of the hostelworld reviews are fake as mine doesnt show but lots of one sentence / fake name 10* reviews dominate. Good location but booked for curtains when in reality theyre as thin as toilet paper so pointless. No windows / air / natural light so you need big light to see / pack and one bed had the big light switch lol. No social atmosphere except rooftop bar but more expensive / no free beer offering like other hostels and its more like a bar so cant bring all travellers together. Small dogs live in reception and poo on the floor. Lots to be improved.

Hanoi Loopers Hostel & Rooftop Bar sits in a very central Old Quarter spot, close to beer street and Hanoi nightlife. The rooftop bar and breakfast are the clearest upsides: the roof can be social, breakfast is usually a solid buffet, and dorm beds may have curtains, lockers, air con, and warm showers. The tradeoff is that this is a tight, noisy base rather than a polished sleeper. Dorms can be narrow, with little backpack space, short beds, thin curtains, awkward bunk ladders, windowless rooms, weak ventilation, and street or construction noise early or late. Cleanliness and room condition are the main risk. Recent problems include dirty sheets, damp bedding, mould smells, leaking bathrooms, ants, cockroaches, rodents, and possible bed bugs. Staff can be friendly and helpful, but service is inconsistent when bookings, refunds, tours, towels, laundry, or card charges go wrong. Best fit: a short, cheap, central Hanoi stop where rooftop drinks and breakfast matter more than quiet sleep or spotless rooms. For a longer rest, sensitive sleep, or strict hygiene standards, this is a gamble.
