Confirmed Hostelworld
The beachhouse is a very beautiful place and we spent three nights there. The food was really good. However, the services are misleading, many of the things advertised on their website simply don’t exist or are not included in the price as stated. For example, snorkeling gear was not free, the yoga classes didn’t exist, and the “afternoon tea” never happened. Worst of all, the dorm where we slept had bedbugs (punaise de lit). Vibe Analysis
The Beachouse is a small budget resort-style hostel on Fiji's Coral Coast, set right by a beautiful beach and lagoon with hammocks, outdoor hangout space, a pool, a bar, and a relaxed social rhythm. It works best for slowing down: swimming, reading by the water, playing volleyball, meeting other travelers, or doing very little without feeling useless. Free kayaking is one of the clearest wins here, giving the beach setup an easy daytime activity without turning the place into a full-on tour machine. Surf breaks are nearby, with paid boat access possible for farther breaks, though surf logistics can be inconsistent. Food is a real part of the stay. Meals are generally good, breakfast is simple, and there is a coffee shop or small store near the entrance. The tradeoff is that there is no guest kitchen, so lunch and dinner usually mean buying from the property. Dorms can be simple but workable, with a few rooms having outdoor ensuite bathrooms or showers. The overall feel is more chilled beach base than polished hostel machine: friendly staff, lots of space to lounge, a mix of solo travelers, couples, and families, and a vibe that can be social without needing to be loud every night.
Signals to check

- Power outlets in dorms can be limited, with charging sometimes needing to happen near the bar.
- The property is isolated, with no guest kitchen and limited nearby food or shop options.
- Bring cash before arrival; ATMs and nearby supplies can be a problem.
- Advertised activities or inclusions such as yoga, paddle boards, free snorkeling gear, afternoon tea, or surf options may not always be available.
- Activity pricing and organization can be unclear, especially for surfing and paid trips.
- Room comfort is uneven, with issues including limited lockers, no bed curtains, basic breakfast, occasional hot water problems, and past pest problems in dorms or rooms.
