BUNK Surfers Paradise

I have to say the Japanese girl so rude to me, when I ask for if I can stay at the same room or I can move to 8 share but I do not want to stay at 2 level, cause I get bite by the bed bug at the room 215, the bite everywhere in my body; she not listen to me carefully, shout at me when I speaking, very bossy attitude, I mean I’m not her staff, I’m the guest, that’s very very rude..

Nice hostel overall with some good features, but also a few downsides. The hostel has a great kitchen and a nice outdoor area, including a pool and hot tub, which makes it a good place to relax and meet people. Our room also had a balcony with private beds, which was a nice touch. However, there are some issues. The building has five floors but only one lift, so be prepared to wait quite a while to go up or down, especially during busy times. The biggest problem was the room temperature. It was extremely warm and humid, and the A/C didn’t work properly. There was no remote control in the room, so we called the front desk twice, but they weren’t very helpful and didn’t seem to know how to fix the issue. It also wasn’t easy to go to the front desk in person because the lift takes forever, and there’s no phone in the room. Also, some of our friends in another room experienced bed bugs and had to move rooms, which was pretty concerning. Overall, it’s a decent place with good facilities, but improvements in maintenance and customer service would make a big difference.

The hostel did not live up to the standards as seen online. The bathroom was a bit dilapidated and the stand for our handheld shower was broken so you could not use it shower form. Also there was a bug in my friend’s bed (not a bed bug but still gross). The property overall was untidy. Additionally, the perks of the hostel are not great. There are no free activities, bad WiFi, and you only get a 25% food and drinks at their restaurant. I would only recommend this place if you are staying for a short time with friends because there is only one group activity at this hostel so it’s not great for socializing. Overall the only pros of this place are the location and price.

The hostel is well situated but that was the only advantage. I was bitten by bed bugs. They offered me another room and paid for my laundry but they didn't really solve the problem. The common areas aren't clean (some trash stayed in the staircase during my entire stay), the kitchen is a mess with water dripping from the ceiling and the bedrooms are super dark.

Bed Bugs!!! We had bed bugs in our room and had to wash all our stuff to avoid bringing them home. I heard others complaining of bedbugs at the reception desk also. It was obvious that the staff knew of the problem, and were doing nothing about it - we were told not to tell anyone! Avoid, avoid, avoid!

Located ideally, it's a short distance from the beach, pubs, clubs, shops. I got the train and then the light rail which is super close to the hostel as well which is really handy if youre laden down with bags! The guy on reception was pleasant. Staff in general were friendly but not as bubbly as you would find in other hostels. I wasn't offered too much information so had to ask a lot of questions. We were moved from the common areas between 10 - 11 and had to leave which really killed the atmosphere. Then there was the bed bug situation. I was as good as told that I (or one of my roommates) must have brought them into the hostel. Not what you want to hear from a problem which was definitely not your fault. No form of apology or even a sympathetic word when I have weIts on my arms and back after the night! Thought the whole situation should have been dealt with better. Privacy in the bunks is good, the beds are comfy (although alive). The room and bathroom and most areas seemed to have a high standard of cleanliness to be fair but overall this was a very meh experience.
