I like the staff and the location. However, There are still bedbugs, and I’ve gotten so many sores on my legs because of them. They’re extremely itchy.

It ticks all the boxes for what I required. It's well located, clean, safe, quiet and no bugs (including bedbugs) - all at a fair price for central Manhattan. It's reasonably priced for what you get. Don't expect the Waldorf Astoria or the Plaza hotel here. It's as bare bones at it gets. The mattress could be better. I got a private room and you get a bed, a sink, shelves and a metal storage locker. That's it. I wouldn't bring a wife or girlfriend here but for a single person it's great.

It's my 2nd time staying here. Stayed 4 nites. Got 3 bedbug bites, but will most likely stay again next vIsit to NYC. Winter is a different vibe. Can't wait for the summer.

Came back to my room on the third night to find cockroaches everywhere, and my toiletry bag filled with roaches as well. They moved me to a new room thankfully, but the staff were indifferent and seemed to act as if it were my own issue to solve, which I wouldn’t have expected for the price I paid per night. Have yet to inspect for bedbugs, but am going to be thoroughly cleaning everything I brought with my when I get home.

Evidence of bedbugs, not great washroom/shower facilities, very low clearance ceiling

  6. Confirmed Hostelworld

It was okay. I have pretty low standards for places I stay at: give me a clean room, a bed, a bathroom, and someplace to put my stuff, and I’m good. This place met those low standards, with one exception: each night I was there, I saw one cockroach. But at this price point in New York City, its not so much whether or not you have cockroaches so much as it is how many cockroaches you’ll get. Three is pretty low! No bedbugs and no rats, either, so it meets the bare minimum for cleanliness.

Vibe Analysis

The location is the star; everything else feels old and fee-heavy. It can work as a cheap bed in New York, but room comfort and front-desk attitude are recurring drawbacks.
