HI Europa Brugge

I would NOT recommend this hostel. There are so many things wrong. FIRST, the rooms. The rooms STANK of feces and urine, in the showers had lots of visible MOLD, multiple of my friends saw BED BUGS in the beda and there was BLOOD on the walls. The service was mid at best. I saw an employee picking their nose and then touching the food. The only thing i could eat for dinner was some chips and lettuce as the mystery meat was not very good. We were also told we would be FINED if we made too much sound. UPDATE : Some of my friends room has been RANSACKED, nothing has been found to be taken but the weird thing is that they locked their doors. Another thing, there seemed to be some weird men taking pictures of the girls (14 years old) and just seem to be watching them. This place is starting to get really weird! Hope I make it out alive!!! wish me luck.

Well firstly, the location is great. Silence literally hits once you turn to the hostel alley. Clean bedding and mattresses that prevent bed bugs. Beds are good quality and don't make a sound. But it was a torture to sleep there at 25°C. Not because of heat, but I guess when it's warmer it will be much worse, but because of mosquitoes. Guys, you definitely lack from nets...The point is: you have to choose - you get anoxemia and overheating with closed windows, or you have overheating because you can't uncover yourself from bedding, or constantly waking up from bites. Barely could sleep there. Ridiculous.

I would genuinely never recommend somebody stay here. The property was very far out of town. A thirty minute walk isn’t much during the day but at night after drinking it felt pretty unsafe. You can take the bus, but as someone traveling alone I really didn’t like that I had to walk back so far. Staff is lovely but the vibe was really not great. I also understand this isn’t the hostels fault, but I woke up with a ton of bites on my legs from something, either bed bugs or fleas. Probably another traveler brought them in, but it caused a lot of stress. The hostel helped me deal with it, but I do think it’s useful to know.
