Not worth the money. There was a powercut for more then 24hrs of my stay meaning two nights of no sleep due to no air con and no lights at night :/ obviously not the fault of the hostel but could’ve been mitigated. The en-suites were also ebismal, the water was brown, very disconcerting when brushing teeth etc. and overall just poor facilities. Beds also v uncomfy as they leave the plastic covers on the mattresses to prevent bedbugs. Staff were helpful and very cute dogs eveywhere.

Vibe Analysis
The beach is the main superpower here: The Lost Boys sits right by the sand, with hammocks, swings, a beach bar, and water close enough for a barefoot island rhythm. It is also within walking distance of Koh Touch, the pier, restaurants, bars, and Nestival, so it works well for a social base rather than a remote hideout. Nights lean social: karaoke, quiz, open mic, beer pong, live music, bonfires, family dinner, movie night, and boat-tour energy all fit the pattern. The mood can land as friendly and easy for solo travelers, with staff and volunteers who are usually warm, chatty, and hands-on. It is more backpacker-house-party lab than polished resort. Food and drinks are a real part of the stay, with cocktails, happy hour, burgers, vegan options, beans on toast, family BBQ, and homemade bread getting clear love. Rooms are the tradeoff: dorms can be decent, but comfort is inconsistent, and private rooms can feel rustic, hot, basic, or overdue for renovation.
Signals to check
- Music and nearby nightlife can run late, so light sleepers may struggle.
- Private rooms may be very basic, hot, and fan-only, with no AC in at least part of the setup.
- Mosquitoes, bugs, sand, and island-rustic gaps can be part of the room reality.
- Wi-Fi, power, hot water, water color, locks, lockers, and charging points can be unreliable.
- Cleanliness and bathroom condition are uneven, and the no-toilet-paper setup may not suit everyone.
