The Farm Hostel Nusa Penida
Bed bug reports

Possible Google Maps
While the Farm Nusa Penida is undeniably beautiful and set in a stunning location, unfortunately that is the only positive aspect of my stay. I became seriously unwell after eating at the restaurant in the hostel and am now on antibiotics and was even put on a drip due to a bacterial infection. This was the only place I had eaten in the 48 hours prior. The sweet and sour chicken I was served was pink inside, and the pancakes were completely undercooked, which is extremely concerning and unacceptable. In addition to the food issues, the accommodation itself was very uncomfortable. There were numerous bugs in the bed, and I ended up with many bites. Our room also had crickets and spiders inside. While I understand that insects are common in tropical locations, the design of the doors makes the room feel almost open to the outdoors, which allows insects to enter very easily and affects basic comfort and hygiene. Overall, this experience was deeply disappointing, particularly given the health implications. I would urge the management to address food safety and accommodation design as a matter of priority.

The hostel looks nice from the outside and the pool, gym and spa area are appealing. The organized day trips are super fun. However, the cleaniness was bad, especially the bathroom, which smelled terrible. Worst of all, there were bed bugs. My entire body is covered in bites. Also the location is very remote with nothing else nearby, so you are forced to rely on the hostel unless you can ride a scooter. The food and drinks are poor in quality and clearly overpriced. Overall, the appearance does not make up for the hygiene issues and isolated location.

Beautiful hotel but I got bed bugs and the reception did not do anything and said the manager was not in. I have bed bugs over me and it’s not ideal. Very bad experience

Vibe Analysis
The Farm Hostel Nusa Penida has a resort-style setup with a large pool, strong island views, a spa, and a gym that includes a sauna and ice bath. There is also an on-site club, so it is built for a lively stay rather than a quiet one. The hostel runs a steady social program in the evening, and the atmosphere can get loud late into the night, especially near the pool and bar area. It feels geared toward a social, high-energy stay. Food and drinks can be expensive, and portions can be small. The location is remote and sits high on a hill, so scooter, taxi, or arranged transport is useful. Some rooms are clean and comfortable, but cleanliness is uneven in a few areas, and bugs or bathroom smell problems have shown up.
