Backpackers Inn Mcleodganj

I had an absolutely horrible experience at this hotel. The bed had bed bugs, and the blankets were incredibly dirty, as if they hadn’t been washed in months. When I brought this up to the owner, he shockingly admitted that the blankets hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The washroom was no better—mould was growing on the walls, making it feel completely unhygienic. I couldn’t believe how poorly maintained everything was. This place was a nightmare, and I would never recommend anyone to stay here.

I was bitten by bed bugs. When i informed they had a very casual reaction. He mentioned that blankets are not washed from 3 weeks. They are not bothered about the customer at all. All good reviews are atleast 5-6 months old. The reviews are a bit rigged as all are old. Recent ones are really bad reviews.

Okay, I don't have any idea how these people have the top rating on Hostelworld and booking. I had the most horrible stay ever. To anyone who's planning to book this place, I suggest you strongly not to. I had to wait 4 hours before i could get a room. Which by the way had no water, no electricity, molds on the walls and bedbugs in the beds and the toilet had centipedes in it and it was clogged with toilet paper. To top all of that, I got a room in the basement which had a view of TRASH. Apart from that, you need to climb down 150 stairs to get to the hostel, and then climb up the stairs to get back into the market. The food is served in dirty dishes and the receptionist forgot giving me back my ID which I had to go back and take the next day (WASTAGE OF TIME). The only good thing about this hostel is it's view from the terrace which you can not enjoy because after 7 pm the receptionist and his friends sleep on the terrace and if you talk to your friends, They will come out and talk rudely to you and ask you to stay quiet. I am a pretty avid traveler so i have the habit living in places of all kinds but this was just horrible. I couldn't do anything on my first 24 hours in Mcleodganj because of this hostel. I am not gonna recommend any other place to you because that will make it seem like I am being paid to write this review, But I just want nobody to have the experience I had. So, I am glad if i saved you from this place. REALLY AM! Have a nice and safe trip you guys!
